Down two possessions, 4th and 17 in FG range and he elects to go for it and not kick the FG.

Was anyone else like ?

Eta: yes I know they converted...

He probably thought that was his best bet for a TD. If he took 3 he knew he wasn't going to drive the field and score a TD after that.

I love Spurrier.

He wasn't going to get out-lesticled again...

I was shocked they went for it.....even more shocked the TE was wide open.

Also, SC kicker's career long FG is 38 yards...it would've been his longest if they tried it.

4th and 17(ish), first Down at the 5= ball at the 23, +10 for the end zone, +7 for the snap/hold means its a 40ish yard FG

Why would LSU fans crucify a coach of a team they don't care about or follow?

Yea and we should have called a Timeout on that play. The Defense didnt look like they were lined up correctly.

Just kidding around. The Miles supporters are funny with the stuff they come up with. Taking hypothetical situations concerning other coaches and saying what would happen if Miles made the same decision. That question can't be answered because Spurrier made the decision not Miles.

I was scared we might be in this situation after Les opted to kick the FG to cut the lead to 14-13.

1. I'm not on the Miles bandwagon

2. I can't stand the shite he gets crucified for. Just pointing out that even one of the "expert" coaches makes what most would see as a dumb move.

Their kicker's long for the season was 38 yards. He has missed 2 between 30-40 yards, and had a short one blocked last week. Sounds like a lack of confidence in the kicker.

bullshite. If the situation was reversed and Miles had been down 9 points and opted not to kick the FG, this place would have unloaded on him, and rightly so.
