take this for what it's worth. a buddy just said a friend of his happened to be in Colorado at a restaraunt bar - a nice one- and found himself sitting next to the chancellor of lsu.

he struck up a conversation. long and short - the chancellor acknowledged that miles could be very stubborn and strong-willed - when he had his mind made up no one could tell him anything. But, miles was a winner so... they were pretty much content with the whole package.

That sounds about right to me, because it's what I've figured out on my own, and the conclusion that i've drawn. miles has 2 SEC championships and 1 natty. we are competing regularly. So you take the good with the bad.

Strong willed and stubborn are the traits of any head football coach. Unimaginative and unrealistic are a problem.

He also got us there to begin with....

Thats like saying a guy who scores 50 points in a basketball game but misses the "game winner" at the buzzer cost the team the game.

No, that's like saying a guy who scores 50 points in a basketball game doesn't score a single point in game 7 of the NBA finals.

Have we changed the discussion to some LSU fans?

Yeah but the problem is, most fans, especially the ones on here, are incredibly stupid and don't understand that. Or the fact that he has won two BCS bowls and two SEC Championships in 7 years. They just don't like the way he coaches and we don't win with enough style points, so the coach sucks and thats the reason we havent gone undefeated and won the national championship every year since he got here.

This is true.

Is a winner - and there is overwhelming objective support for this assertion.

Exactly. I wouldn't want a pussy head coach who had no control over his players and assistants
