Before the loss of Alfred Blue, I believed Hilliard to be the #2 back on this team. Now, I think he is the best back we have overall in terms of speed, power and play making ability (I havent seen enough of Jeremy Hill).

Every game since the loss of Blue, his carries have gone down. It looks to be in order to make way for Spencer Ware. Now, I have always liked Ware, but this year he hasn't been at his best and I believe Hilliard is overall more productive.

Why are his carries going down? It doesnt make sense to me?

North Texas- 13 / 141 / 2TD
Washington- 13 /46 / 2TD
Idaho- 11 / 116 / 2TD
Towson- 6 / 23
Florida- 5 / 16

I beleive we need to ride this horse to atlanta.. Make him the feature back and mix in everyone else

I agree with you but the reason is probably because he fumbled the football twice against Towson when the carries started going down.

See Keiland Williams, Michael ford... If you do well a couple of games, you get pushed in the back of the line

I wish we had any feature back. Just let someone get in rhythm.

I thought the same thing before the loss of Blue. But now, im not so sure Kenny is our best blend of size and speed. Theres been some runs where Kenny has had open field in front of him, but gets caught from behind. Plus, the way we use Hilliard is very obvious to opposing teams. When hes in the game, 85% of the time its up the middle. If we use him more and give him more carries in diff looks(sweeps, tosses, etc) it might take some pressure off between the tackles when he gets the rock. You have to show the opposing teams that we will give him the ball to the outside just so they will respect it. I dont get why we rarely are using Ford now. Hes the big question mark for me when it comes to using RBs. He is without a doubt the fastest guy of the group, and he does well running between the tackles. I just dont get why we havent been using him more.

The loss of Alfred Blue hurts us so much more than just personnel. He was the 1 RB that could go up the middle, then take a pitch to the outside, then a flare pass in the flats. He was the complete package. Now, its very obvious what we run depending on what RB is in the game. Hilliards in the game, its up the middle. Fords in, its to the outside. Wares in, up the middle. Ware in a shotgun, flare.

As far as Hill, I think he could step in and become our best back. He looks to be a few lbs lighter than Kenny, but looks way faster. Hes like a blend of Kenny and Blue. Im very excited about him and hope we give him more touches this weekend.

I guess you missed his fumbles, but frick it. I'm sure you know more than the coaches whom are paid to coach and watch these players in practice.

People that understand football know Ware is our best all around back after Blue. It's not really close either. When Ware comes in , it doesn't tip our hand. Other teams have figured out that ford and Hilliard struggle in pass protection.

This is more of a shot at the coaches than a praise of Blue/Ware.

Y'all make it sound like Ford was on Zoolander. He's not an ambirunner, he can only run left.

I like the Ware/Ford combo. Ware is better overall. He has the skillset for rushing, bruising and receiving. Ford is adequate with his speed to outside. I don't think Hilliard hits the hole hard enough. I don't get why everyone has a hard-on for him. He has 3 good games against scrubs and everyone creams their pants.

Haha an ambirunner, that was awesome. And I guess it could be a shot at how our coaches are using are backs. But, we rarely use Ford now and im not sure why. I get he fumbled vs Towson, but Hilliard also had 2 fumbles that night. It was a wet ball all night.

And I agree with Ware being our top back right now without Blue, 100%. Im just very excited to see how we use Hill during the next few games.

I guess everyone is forgetting that Ware Ford and Hilliard fumbled that night. Miles does tip his hand and become predictable. The only reason Ware has been perceived to be the better back is because Miles uses him in various situations so the D has to expect more, same with Blue. Miles puts in Ford if he wants to run to the outside or straight up the gut, Hilliard if he just wants to run right at a 8, 9, 10 man front, and Hill just about never. Miles has not been himself for a while now and he tips his hand on just about every play.

This. Ware is the only RB besides Blue that we dont use for spot play. We have him running inside, outside, blocking, catching the ball, etc. If we would use Kenny/Ford like Ware/Blue, I think it would open up the running game a lot more. It def would clear up some of the congestion we see between the tackles, thats for sure.

And i get that you play to a guys strengths. Kenny is a bigger powerful back so you run him inside, and Ford is our fastest back so you send him outside. But, other teams know what there strengths are and how we use him. Even if Kenny isnt the fastest guy, you still need to give him a toss or 2 to the outside. And Ford isnt our biggest back, but he still needs to get carries inside. You have to keep defenses on their toes and make them respect the fact that if you put 2 LBs in the A gap and walk a safety up over the center with Kenny in the game, we will pitch it to the outside. Doesnt have to go for a big gain every time or anything like that, but you have to show opponents that we will give it to Ford up the middle when your LBs and S are playing on the edge. Keep mixing it up. 1 of the worst things an offense can be is predictable, esp to the point where they know the play just by personnel. An unpredictable offense is so much more dangerous...

Maybe Blue could do more for us at this point..But when you have 9 on the line daring your QB to throw and all you do is hand off..I dont care if you have Adrian Peterson as your RB he will not have great results.
And thats with a top notch OL... ..not second string!

You're right, but they fumbled too.
