I am switching jobs soon, and need to transfer my 401k over as we'll, I have never done this before. Wat do I need to do?

Thanks!

Call Fidelity and ask them. They will have specific instructions and will walk you through the process.

Sounds good.

It's typically no bid deal, right?

If only there was a board dedicated to money related topics...

Sorry! I'll ask that it be moved over there... That's what I get for assuming there would be people on the OT who knew something about money.

it is no big deal at all...basically, the company who is receiving the account will handle the whole thing for you...in fact, as soon as you change jobs, you are likely to hear from a few others who want to handle your account....

the OT has no need for a 401k, that means you have to work which means you are poor.

Money board?
Also, it's never a bad idea to get a financial adviser to look at this with you.
Great Info

Really no big deal. I've done it several times, and the new institution knows what to do.
