Does anyone know if this happened this week? I remember in the past the team leaders have called a players only meeting before a season changing game to get everone focused and together. Hope Big Sam, Simon, Zach, OBJ, whoever got this done and the team is ready fight for one another til the end. LSU needs to be a great "team" today!!!

Simon's comments bothered me...
The team lockerroom this year may be missing chemistry

I heard Wing tried to call one but only Big Sam and Alleman showed up.

I doubt this guy will be advocating for a Players only meeting. How can you consider Zach a team leader when he trots off to a dark corner after every series and hides.

I am sorry but these players only meetings are a bunch of horse shite. They don't change anything or do anything to change the outcome of a game. If I remember right, the players called similar meetings a few times in the past few seasons when we struggled with coaches' incompetence with time management, offensive play calling, end of game issues and such. Nothing changed after these 'players only' meetings. We are who we are and we lost the games we were going lose anyway. No players only meeting will ever fix the clock issues or stupid penalties or lack of discipline. These things have never been the strength of Miles coached LSU teams and will never be.

Clock management, lack of discipline and penalties are definitely a pattern. Add poor offensive play calling and execution.
Get rid of those items and you have Saban.
Difference is the player coach can often get the kids to step up for them.

That's my fear, but I was thinking Miles would sense this and address it. We will find out today !!!

I agree. Miles is not strong in team discipline and its showed many times.

It wasn't a team meeting, but after the TD Towson scored in the 4th, Anthony Johnson was giving the D-line an arse chewing. Hope that intensity stayed there through practice.

You people act like he's in solitary. He sits there after a series to talk to Krags and the other QB's, and when they're done he walking around.

So Rip Van Miles wakes up this morning and realizes it's a problem?
Where's he been the last four or five years?

Tricky Ricky;
Your first statement is exactly that: HS! However I will backtrack and say that player's only meetings can be detremental and not effective if the timing is wrong or the message is not delivered/heard right.
Players only meetings are generally needed when a team is in panic mode and something desperate is needed to right the ship. I don't think LSU is in this area at all but they do need more focus and attention to details.
Football is the most complete team game in all of sport w an average well over 30 "starters" when you count offense, defense, and special teams. Everyone needs to take care of their assignments for the team to be successful.
Miles does a great job of getting the team fired up to play every weekend so I don't really know if player only meetings are necessary. Just do the ordinary things like catch the ball and hold on to the football and we will be fine.
I expect LSU to be focused and play extremely well today in another very hostile environment against another quality SEC opponent (as Miles likes to say). Let it happen. One game at a time. Geaux Tigers! NEXT!

I feel your pain, brah. I mean 7 long years of losing seasons, no championships, being unranked is wearing on me. Thanks for the credible and needed post.
