For La. style yes, but for things like paella/seafood risotto, arborio or other short grain rice.

Yeah that is kind of funny, it's almost like saying that I am new to breathing air.

When I first met my fiancé, who was born and raised in Metairie, she said that she can count on one hand how many times in her life she had eaten anything over rice in her life. It was always potatoes and vegetables. She or her mom had never owned a rice cooker.

I'm probably in the minority. I like medium grain. I like my rice to stick together in a nice clump.

And I like this brand. Locally grown and processed.

I like that rice, isn't it out of Falcon?

I love Toro, buy it mostly. Cajun Country second followed by Mahatma.

My wife insists all rice be rinsed, she is daughter of a rice farmer and miller. She says mills are terrible and refuses to eat rice that hasn't been rinsed. The great thing is, the rice seems to have a better texture once rinsed so now I like it that way too. Anyone else do this?

Yes, it is Falcon.

I rinse, but I've been told that I don't need to anymore because things have supposedly improved? And yet I continue to rinse.

I'd never heard of Toro until an out of state guest asked me where to find it. She loved it and wanted to stock up. She found some, but I still haven't tried it.

Cajun Country long grain

Rinse. They fumigate the rice bins. You probably want to rinse "some" of the pesticides off.
