fair enough, I guess it's not the numbers but the severity... Lost Enrique for 8 months, Gerrard 6 weeks, Agger 2 weeks.
Agger and Borini may both be back this w/e for Norwich

Yeah, not the ideal CAM, but I wanted to try him and Fredy together. Probably won't last.

Just started manager mode.....so you can be a club manager and national team manager at the same time, right?
Posted on 9/27/12 at 8:32 pm to Mr. Shake
yes
fwiw, i just played 2 games on manager mode when the ball was...not visible. won one 1-0 and won the 2nd 2-2 (5-3 PK...it was a cup game)

Sold Gomez, bought Falcao. Chelsea then offered me 45m for him. I raised it to 62m and they accepted. Spent my budget+Ribery and got Messi.
Boom

that post pretty much sums up why i can't play with a top-level team at first

It's stupid
Neuer
Lahm - Boateng - Badstuber - Baines
Javi
Schweini-Kroos
Robben - Messi - Muller
Alaba was being a dick and forced me to sell him so I had to buy another left back.

By year 3 in 12 I had Ronaldo, Suarez, Ozil, Pepe, and Joe Hart all on the same team
Seems like budgets are much more realistic in 13

The farthest I got with Everton:
Howard
Baines-Sakho-Fabricio-Ansaldi
Ramires-Fellaini
Hulk-Dempsey-Tshabalala/Donovan
Doumbia

there is a reason i started with wycombe. i didn't mean to win npower 2 in year 1, but i did
back in the day fifa used to just use a single budget. what you earned weekly was in there. what you earned from trophies was in there. what you earned/lost from transfers was in there. salaries ate it up each week, too. and you could do stadium improvements to make more $ (but they cost a ton). i think you also paid to improve scouting, coaching, etc
what you'd do is spend all your money on a top-level scout. as you develop him, you scout players who were badass and then sell them to reinvest in scouting. once you got a 10 level, you would scout 99 overall players who were like 18
so then you scout/sell them, and develop your stadium and super high wages
in like 10 years i had $2B in the bank

I'm thinking about a 4-2-3-1, with Bent playing a shallow forward position behind Gabby. Two wingers, and two strong central mids (one a box-to-box and the other a defensive mid) round it out.
My advice: keep it simple, especially in the middle. Definitely would not play bent anywhere but up top, he's awful with the ball but he's a finisher. I think you need to play with 2 strikers because of all our talent there. I like having 2 holding mids who just keep the ball and play it simple, el Ahmadi and delph are both tidy with the ball and cover plenty of ground.

I don't want to run straight 4-4-2. Gabby's been a good winger in the friendlies, so I'll probably keep him there. I feel that suits his speed better. I brought in Montero because he's my pet MLS project, and it would offset Gabby's move to winger. Plus, Montero's rated a bit better than Gabby is. Better finisher.
Would Delph work best as the CAM on that team?
Might switch to 4-1-2-1-2 Diamond...have had success with that formation in the past.
Like this...
Bent-Montero
Delph
Gabby-N'Zogbia
El Ahmadi

Guzan/Given

with how the fullbacks make runs on this game, i don't really like going too wide right now
BUT, i will say that in the 4-2-3-1 (wide) that i'm running in my career (due to personnel), the outside mids and fullbacks can link up for a deadly crossing duo
i need a classic target man up front. i'm playing a 16-year old who is a 59 overall and is 5-9

I don't even see how that is fun
My project with Crystal Palace is going nicely, although I wish I would have started with a League 1 team now.
My starting team looked like this:
Speroni (73)
Ward (68), Ramage (68), McCarthy (67), Moxey (67)
Jedinak (69), Dikgacoi (67)
Zaha (72), Moritz (70), Garvan (67)
Murray (70)
After 1 season and a jump to the Prem I look like this:
Speroni (73)
Baird (69), Blake (72), Parr (76), Moxey (71)
Garvan (70), Jedinak (72)
Sterling (71), Di Gennaro (77), Zaha (77)
Ojo (79)
Youth development is so much better in this game. I've got a couple 16 and 17 year olds that I scouted on my bench already (the main reason I wish I would have started with a lower club)

That would work. Delph can actually play any of the 4 midfield positions. Gabby on the wing is fine if you don't mind dealing with his terrible touch. Montero and Bent would be a deadly combination, we were actually linked with him a few years ago (JPA Colombia connection?).
I don't like the 4-4-2 either. I'd go with a 4-2-2-2 or 4-1-2-1-2, as I mentioned Delph can slot in to either one (CAM or CDM).

Okay I'm going to concede a bit and agree with SFP to an extent.
EA went overboard just slightly with the first touches. I understand what their objective was, but in trying to achieve that they subsequently eliminated 2 aspects of the game: counter attacks and overhead through balls. And while I'm not particularly upset with the former, the latter is quite troubling.
You're telling me that no matter which player I play with, I can't take down an overhead through ball? I played a few matches with Alexis Sanchez and Chile and was frustrated beyond belief. Lifting the ball over the back line while in the final third was working like a charm, but I couldn't even gain possession of the ball with Sanchez after doing so. I wish they would have negated this aspect of the game by increasing defensive positioning just a bit and making it harder to see/complete those passes, rather than making the touches so horrid that you quit trying it all-together.
Also, off the ball defensive positioning is once again awful. I can trap a defender in his own third through pressing, only to have him clear the ball to an unmarked forward. SMGDH

Throttled someone online last night 8-1 GREATEST PLAYER EVER
haven't won since.
for the love of frick I feel like I'm so close but the first touch changes absolutely kill off the majority of my attacks.
