Me neither, but it is because I put everything on my credit card. If vending machines would take credit cards, I would use them for that too.

I pay them off every month and collect the rewards.

Honestly, we have to use checks alot still for kids school stuff and the playground sports fees, etc.

Just can't stand to be behind some old arse bitch at a grocery store writing a check.

Haha that question came first. I'm cheap and refuse to be had on expensive beer, but not poor. My debit card expired and I am down to checks until I can get the bank to send me a new one.

What is a check? Is that a piece of paper?

There is nothing worse than getting behind a lady at a checkout counter that waits until the cashier gives a total, then she starts the process of looking for a checkbook in her purse.

That drives me up the wall too.

Good call. If I owned a breakfast lunch place that did not serve alcohol, I wouldn't take cards either. That 2-3% fee is a pretty big hit on the margins of daily operation.

who uses checks?

I prefer to be paid in checks as I hate paying that 2.75%, plus I usually collect money before service is performed, so if it does bounce, I'll eventually keep it, and then charge an extra $35 before I finish the job.

Only had two checks bounce in last two years. both residents of NOLA east.

Call the restaurant and ask before you go. Most actually still take them... I work in retail and my boss prefers people who pay in checks as well. No credit card fee and only one NSF in two years between 4 locations.
