Tonight is the CD release party for The Dirty River Boys' new album, called "Science of Flight". They started a Kickstarter campaign about a year ago in order to raise money to record this album, and the response was overwhelming. They are widely regarded as having one of the best live shows in Texas...all acoustic and extremely high-energy. They are the next big thing in Americana/folk music.

DRB has played Musicfest in Steamboat, as well as festivals like Willie's Picnic and Chilifest. They also recently won Band of the Year, which earned them the opportunity to be the featured act at the Formula 1 race in November.

I've had the privilege of hearing an advance copy of this record. Standouts for me are "Heart Like That" and "Riverbed Wildflowers".

Here are some songs from "Science of Flight":

Dirty River Boys -- Science of Flight

DRB -- Raise Some Hell

DRB -- In These Times

DRB -- Lookin' For the Heart

DRB -- Another Night

DRB -- Road Song

The album will be available on iTunes Monday morning but you can pre-order it now. Check them out!

Yes I will give a review after tonight, pretty pumped cause will be my first time to see them live and I already love their music.

L Boogie, I went and saw Midnight River Choir last week and was really impressed how good they were live. Hung out and did some shots with them after and amazed how down to earth they were. Figured you have seen them cause they are from Austin.

its the Saturday of the South Carolina game, so it will depend on what time the game is

if it's a 2:30 game, I think we will catch the show too

if it's a night game, well, I'll catch them next time

It should be a hell of a show...I think they sold out the Mucky Duck last time they played there so tonight should get pretty rowdy. Travis (the cajon player) is SO fun to watch, and I like to laugh at the girls trying to have eye-sex with CJ.

And yeah, I like MRC a lot. They actually had their equipment stolen a couple of weeks ago so a bunch of their fellow musicians put together a benefit concert to raise money to replace their stuff. That's what I love so much about this scene...the bands really have each other's backs and completely support each other. Turnpike has already FBd and Tweeted about DRB's new album, and Kevin Fowler came to the TT/RRB show on Labor Day. I LOVE stuff like that.

Well L Boogie you were right, that was one of the best live shows I have ever seen in a listening room atmosphere! Can't imagine the DRB at a big venue...def worth the money to see them live!
