Will be getting into BR late Thursday afternoon. We've got plans throughout the weekend, but Thursday night is open. I would like to treat him to some good poboys. Any suggestions?
TIA.

I think the shrimp poboy at george's is great.

Drive 75 miles east.
I really don't like any of the poboy places in BR. I'd say that New Orleans Pobody on Coursey is probably the "best" but it's still not a traditional New Orleans style.

PoBoy shop on Perkins near College drive/Lee Dr. Get him a half n half oyster/shrimp.

Others have suggested Po Boy Express, but it is not much of a dining experience.

Pocorello's has as good of a meatball poboy as you'll find anywhere.

george's shrimp po boy is solid.
Rocco's on drusilla is good too

Make sure you call the poboys a submarine (sub) sandwich so they know what you're talking about.

Po Boy Express is one of my favorites but yeah the dining experience is meh.
I'm a fan of Pastime but that may be more to do with location. But I love the size and taste of the shrimp.

I was kind of thinking about the Pastime, just for old times' sake.

prepare to pay $15 for a crappy 6" sandwich and a tiny side of fries.

Parrains does a few good seafood ones with a nice bar area.

The po-boys at Tony's Seafood were good when I lived there a few years ago. It's in a sketchy part of town but worth the trip.

The Dempseys on Jefferson would be your best bet. It doesn't break the bank, good food, and good atmosphere.

Rocket Shrimp or Oyster Poboy at Jasmine's.
