Because that just never gets old.

I do it. Yes, I've stalked and taken deer whatever way you seem to think everyone should be forced to do it. But that was back in the day when there weren't that many deer and you had to do that or you likely weren't going to see any deer. These days, we barely harvest enough of them to keep the population under control.

We've all got our personal ethics about hunting and mine has evolved over the decades. Personally, I don't care how you take them as long as it's as fast as possible, the meat gets used. I've got bigger issues with shitty bow hunters wounding them than people hunting over bait or in a high fence area.

I guess for me, I look down on anyone that takes low percentage shots. Be that with a bow or rifle or whatever. If you aren't positive that animal is dead meat immediately, you should let it walk. I don't really care if you got it there with bait or not.

In other words, Kiss My Corn Slinging arse.

BLue Velvet thinks you're a liberal pussy for hunting over bait.

I just think sitting in a box, staring down a long shooting lane with a feeder in the middle is the most boring thing on the face of the planet

I'll do it if I need meat, but I don't call it hunting

No problem with it where it's legal. Just don't let me catch you doing it where it's not. The last thing I want at my lease is GJ walkin up on me when I don't know bait is there. We had 2 guys do it last year and they are no longer in the club.

I bait. But have never killed a deer over it. All my deer came from sitting on ground or in ground blind.

Never had good luck over corn. Just put it out with salt to get the deer coming to the area.

I don't care really, as long as it is within the law.

I've stalked, hunted in front of dogs, in a box stand on powerlines, over food plots, next to a feeder, in a climber on a WMA, human drives, on a cypress log in the swamp, and many other ways. I've hunted in places with ridiculous antler restrictions and in ones that shoot whatever makes them happy.

I appreciate a kill more, the more primitive and difficult the technique used.

I will NEVER pay for a high fence hunt, but most likely wouldn't turn the offer down.

I don't like sitting in them fancy little shooting houses looking over them fancy little manicured food plots. I prefer sitting in a loc-on watching an oak bottom and making sure no deer get in my corn pile over by that white oak tree.

I don't bait, but it's not because of some stance I've taken. It's because I hunt public land for the most part, and when i did not, I felt I had a better chance at getting shots if i patterned the deer instead of them patterning me. In the three years or so that I was in a prime lease, I got more shot opportunities than anyone using bait. The main reasons were scouting and moving, a lot.

I use bait but dont expect to kill a big buck over it. I'll use it if I want a doe or if im bow hunting.

Except for the manicured food plot part I love hunting a big comfy box stand on a field with food plot when it is freezing cold or raining. Have seen some really nice bucks this way

I run a feeder on my place, and it is in MS where corning is illegal. I usually try not to put stands close to the feeder if I can help it, but I'm not religious about it. I hunt wherever I think I will see a deer whether it is in front of dogs, in the oaks on the National Forest, on fire lanes/trails or on food plots.

In general I hunt food sources for does and trails through heavier cover for bucks. Since Isaac emptied my freezer for me, I may hunt by the corn on opening day this year!

Precisely, if I'm hunting a particular buck I'm like Alex. I don't want him to know I'm around.

I sit in a boxstand, ladder stand, tree climber over bait, over frequently used trails and over just hotspots. I also ride horses and ride out thickets and tall grass and patches of woods. I will also stalk deer on foot when needed or just sit at the bottom of a tree in a hot area. I like it all. When its nasty raining and cold, a comfy box stand with a nice big chair and a propane heater doesnt hurt my feelings one bit.

I get both sides of th coin. Personally I did not start baiting till a year ago (wasn't an option). I do it mainly becuase I bow hunt. The other useful thing is to use a camera with some rice bran to find out where the deer are in the area ( We can only shoot large bucks, doesnt make sense to spend days hunting a spot with without a shooter in the area). Some spots have several shooters and some have none on camera.

However, I have learned its a pain in the a**. Its expensive, time senstive, and cuases an increase in human activity for the area.

This year I am only baiting a few spots with cameras for bow hunting. Everything else I will just gun hunt under a good oak tree or pipeline. Its just easier and allows me to see more land than just my few bait spots.

My disdain for boxstands is personal. I feel claustrophobic, can't see or hear as good and ther's always wasp buzzing around as well as that wet musty smell. As far as food plots and pipeline rightaways they just bore me. In the woods there's always something going on even if it is just birds, squirrels or armadillos.
