I know LSU played "sloppy" per say on Defense. Our safety play, more thanks to Loston (don't even tell me about the turf toe), was weak. Our D line wasn't looking like the nation's deepest and most explosive either. Also our O line may have not protected Mett as well, and Mett made some poor decisions, etc etc,

I think we will look back on the UNT as just a primer for the season to come. LSU fans are too critical and it's partially due to the MASSIVE success we have had over the 10+ years....with that being said...

Defense: Sam and Mingo are going to come hard off the ends all season; Sam's 30 lbs weight gain will prove to be a plus, Lavar will come in strong all season as well. Freak will be up to "Brockers"-esk. Reid and Loston will be fine, although Reid may have to bully loston to actually give start giving a shite. LB know they are the "weak link" going into the season and will play with fire all season, actually the bright point of our defense last weekend. Our young CB play will definitely be a bit of a struggle at first maybe, but who says the Jalen's, or at least 1 Jalen can't turn into a stud?

Offense: as long as O line keeps up all season how the F are we not going to score 30 a game. 4 legit HBs, GREAT FB play, Landry and ODB running all over the place mixed in with a little RS.....Mett will find his groove and turn into, not the Messiah, but a VERY solid good qb, avg 200ish yds per game. JUST NEEDS TO CONTROL THE MENTAL ERRORS, which he will..

Lets see what happens up until November 3rd....if everything goes according to plan...we will have a wild one in Death Valley..

Other thoughts on the O or D? Any disagreements?

Only thing worry's me is pass blocking. If it improves the sky is the limit! My prediction for the season is 11-1

Im sorry but loston has never impressed me other than a few nice licks on KO coverage. He seems a step slow. I wish this weren't the case but.........

Loston is still not healthy. Linebackers looked pretty good, but were out of position on several runs up the middle. Offense needs to learn to pick up blitzes or Mett will get drilled. Team will be very good by October. LSU 42 UW 17.

I think LSU fans are uneasy after the dismal, unexplainable and here to fore unexplained performance in the NCG. This game was expected to showcase an angry team with a revamped explosive dominating offense. Neither happened.

The game started that way but the intensity slowed a bit after the first quarter. I think the team may end up missing a high energy guy like Mathieu more than we think, just for the intensity. It was North Texas though, and LSU even the fans struggled to get up for this one even though it was the opener. You could definitely tell the difference between this one and last year.

This week will be different, I have a feeling.

I don't mind that we came out sloppy. It will be motivation to get better and know that things don't come naturally.

It's kind of like teams losing and they get better after. We will be fine

We had 500 yards of offense

I think we all expected 500 yards of offense and 50+ points. It was a rent a win.

I am beginning to wonder if Loston will ever be healthy. It seems like he has had one nagging injury after another ever since he arrived at LSU.

Other than Mett throwing a pick at the goal line and Alleman uncharacteristically missing a makable FG, that's what we had.

If this week isn't different I will start to worry. No reason whatsoever for Washington to be within 3 td's.

Ego and Downs are very meh. Freak should play a LOT more than he does.

why is Loston getting so much shite? Reid was directly involved in both TD plays, and just as culpable (if not more so) on the first than Loston was.

no super big deal, as I think those are correctable mistakes. just not understanding the issue with Loston. you'd swear it was Hatcher back there. hell, Poppa even Reggie Nelson'ed some dude on a deep ball.

I like Ego. never been big on Downs though. the Downs love in some thread last week was more baffling to me than the Loston hate. you'd have sworn dude was a white 2 star.

if you watch closely in the games, downs is the quickest player off of the snap on every play...his first move is ridiculous and is getting better with finishing after the original burst
