Will be in both cities this week. Anything will be better than what I've had for 5 months but if you have solid rec's I'm listening.

Nipa's at the Lancaster Hotel near Paddington is the best Thai food restaurant I've ever been to (assuming you like spicy foods).

eta: The JW Marriot steakhouse in Dubai has a damn good filet as well. Of course, you could splurge and have a nice dinner at the top of El Burj al Arab. Only cost me about $600 for a dinner for two.

That's a shame. I have family there that runs a pub and we had some awesome food. Yorkshire pudding, beef Wellington, prime rib, etc. All awesome

This. Brick Lane has several good indian places as well as other type restaurants. I've had very good food in London.

Where you staying at in Dubai? Last time I was there I stayed at the JW Marriot, really nice place that doesn't cost too much.

My favorite restaurant in the world is in London(for many reasons including comfort and personal memories). Bibendum in the Michelin Building in South Kensington- Beautiful room and fantastic Euro -centric menu. Other places in London are the Ivy (very English), Le Gavroche for fantastic french fare, and hit Soho and walk around and see where you want to go...lots of choices and some great Indian although more touristy than Brick Lane as others have said. Hard to find bad Indian food in London unless you really try.
