An FYI about cheap travel - New Orleans to Atlanta for the SEC game

There is a bus service called megabus (.com) that has cheap service to Atlanta out of downtown New Orleans. The stop in Atlanta is at a Marta station.
In going to Atlanta, Megabus only stops in Mobile and Montgomery (not every other podunk town between here and there.)
I got a bus ticket for $14.50 round trip which beats the hell (and then some) out of the cost of gas to drive myself. If LSU doesn't make it to the SEC game, I lose out on the cost of the bus fare, which at $14.50, is no big deal.
Just thought some students might like to know about this. I had never heard of megabus before. Like any other fares, the further out you buy, the cheaper it is, which is why tickets were $5.00 to ATL and $9.00 back to NOLA.

I live in ATL, from NOLA. MARTA is not that bad. Don't always need a gun, but if from NOLA, prolly already got one. ;-)

Most of the MegaBuses (or similar) in the NE have WiFi and power outlets as well.

I am also making it a quick in and out trip. I chose the night bus; I get into ATL the day of the game at 7 a.m. and leave ATL at midnight to go back to NOLA.

Its also pretty cheap to rent a van or suv for the weekend and just split it with a group of ppl. Or if you have a van or suv just split the gas with a group of buds.

Megabus is legit... We ride it from DC to NYC for cheap.... Sometimes you can get 1$ rides. Free wifi, comfy seats, plug ins, and 2 story buses
