We had 508 yards of total offense (most since La Tech game in 2007). Mett was over 70%, had nearly 200 yds passing, a TD and a single mistake. And you people are talking like we had a bad game.

Christ I'm starting to hate LSU fans.

No, people are complaining because LSU still doesn't have a good downfield passing game

WR passing screens are not that effective

Good point. They tried....how many? Too bad none were successful, right?
Longest pass was, 5 yards? Sad, sad, sad.

Yes, but they have gotten considerably worse over the past 5 years.

So an avg of 10 ypc isn't effective (19/26 for 192 yds)?

The ranter portion of the fanbase is pathetic. The posters here must be some miserable fricks.

let's just be honest here. 200 yards passing isn't exactly a lot of passing yards

well it wasn't a great game by any means. we for sure didn't pull an OU or Wisconsin, so that's good

next week is going to say a lot, imho

Most, I think, are rather concerned at the lack of a consistent offensive output.

A significant portion of those 508 yards came on runs when Kenny or Blue took off into the open field untouched. Against more formidable opponents, our offensive line won't be able to blow open such massive gaps so easily.

So, it's not the accrued yardage that most are concerned with, it's the fact that the offense struggled at times to drive the ball with consistency.

200 yards passing with 70% completion pct is WORLDS ahead of where we were this time last year. And it opened up one of the best rushing attacks in the country. Any mistakes we had are very correctable. It was a good opener.

People need to calm the frick down.

yeah our rushing stats were skewed to big plays. i like big plays, and hope this continues, but it likely won't

i said earlier it was like 2009 when we did shite shite shite shite BIG arse PLAY shite shite BIG arse PLAY, etc

they have a qb who can do it, they have the wr's that can do it, but the pass protection was pretty bad vs unt. i think you will see a lot more max protect this weekend vs washington. they went to it last night after mettenberger went down. also, we are going to pound the ball, make no mistake about it. in time, the passing game will come along, people tend to forget, mettenber made his first start last night.
