Was Mett getting the snot knocked out him for a couple of reasons:
1) It was a reminder that the guy is not invincible.
2) By coming back and playing it showed Mett's got some toughness.
3) The coaching staff handled it well. It was clear his confidence was slipping when he got back in and started missing. The bubble screens were a great way to get him some quick completions to get his confidence back.
4) Steven Rivers gets experience beyond just the victory snap.

While it was a sloppy and a bit underwhelming performance overall it's not any different from several rent a win games we've seen from Miles. My biggest concern: the defense. The cohesion amongst the DB's is missing & the d-line can be pushed around. Mingo still has trouble defending the run. I think this group will be closer to the 09/10 groups than last year. We will give up long drives, but not a lot of points.
Next week should tell us a hell of a light more than tonight.

Yeah, where did that woman get that from. It was absurd. Mett hasn't had signifigant playing time in like over a year and he was having serious trouble picking up blitzes.

This one for sure. It was great to see him get snaps with the game still in question. It was, and still is to some extent, a big worry of mine how Rivers will handle the pressure if Mett goes down. He handled it well tonight.

You know I'm beginning to think so too,and I heard some woman on post game say that, so I think there must be something to it.

I know. Which is why it was good to see him come in to a somewhat pressure situation early and handle it well.

I'm glad they put him in for series in the second half. He needs every series he can get.
