I would be happy to just see a truck working.. still have seen nothing..

They're definitely out there. I've been checking the outage map and the green areas on the westbank are slowly but surely growing.
I'll probably leave BR in an hour and head back.

I am driving north on I-55 through Mississippi and seeing many convoys of power trucks headed south...

WWL says that Entergy expects to get a majority of the power back on in New Orleans today.
Still no power of broadway three blocks from Tulane.

Anything new for the people Uptown?
Posted on 8/31/12 at 11:24 am to AlexLSU
Just spoke to the Chase on St Charles by Jackson. They're open but will be shutting down for Entergy to work on the lines. They will reopen this afternoon.

I keep checking the outage map, but see little progress Uptown.

I drove around the neighborhood today in
Metairie and didn't see any signs of entergy.

Still no power by Cleary and W. Metairie in Metry. By Cleary and W. Napoleon, they never lost power. Bastards.
I know someone in this neighborhood. There was a huge tree across Madison at 45th street that knocked out power south of there along Madison and I think the few streets that are east of it. Cleary had a huge tree across the road right near Vintage Church that also took out lines.
The trees are gone now, but the power crews haven't come around yet. Probably because its so few people that will be brought back online by a fairly extensive fix.

Go drive near the major thoroughfares that are without power, like most of veterans and causeway. Those are apparently (and rightfully) being brought back online first. And, yes I'm saying this as someone who is without power and have no idea when it will be back or inkling that it will be anytime soon.

we decided to drive around and enjoy the AC in the car earlier and drove to the west bank and on manhattan there were 15+ trucks alone, came back across and drove from CBD to uptown and cut up to Claiborne and back downtown towards our place. Saw 2 Entergy trucks the entire time and one was getting on the ramp headed to the west bank.
I cannot figure out where all of these people they brought in are hiding bc we went looking for them.

Power and cable back on at Hammond Hwy in Lakeview!
Posted on 8/31/12 at 1:44 pm to AlexLSU
In west riverside behind the whole foods on magazine. Still no power.

well, that pretty much is the location of a major substation. The shorter the distribution line, the less chance something will happen to it.

Nice, didn't have any at my place as of this morning, but the fiancee said she saw some trucks around us. I'm actually studying at school right now just so I can get power and AC

Anyone have any info on Lower Garden district, specifically Magazine and Orange?
Posted on 8/31/12 at 3:12 pm to BottomlandBrew
It makes no sense to me that they're restoring entergy to the Hollygrove area where hardly anyone came back after Katrina, but haven't done shite Uptown where everyone lives.

My buddy at Magazine and St Andrew has power.
