I realize this will sound ignant, but I'm a Northerner. Is it the Ms. getting out, or the gulf getting in?

Anyone know anything about upper Plaquemines Parish? I've got a sister-in-law and niece who hunkered down in Belle Chasse (my brother is in USAF, currently stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan). Y'all think they are in any serious threat for flooding, or just lower Plaquemines?

Depends if it was close enough for the surge to reach it I guess.

Any word of Grand Isle? Did Carmadelle stay on the island? Have a really bad feeling that it may be gone this time.

I believe he stayed on the island. WWL just said they are trying to get in touch with him but can't.

I would imagine communications tough. He typically stays there during storms, which is nuts, but he wants to go down with the ship so to speak. I just hope they didn't get killed down there. Heard the eye wall went right thru the island. Bad part is how slowly it moved. Erosion and wind action has no doubt devastated from Venice to fourchon.
