No Way in Hell I'm Drafting Chris Johnson!

Not before the third round at least. Somehow, his average draft position is in the top 10. Am I the only one who watched the games last season?!. . . I just don't understand how anyone could use a first- or second-round pick on a guy who performed that poorly last season. Does everyone else know something that I don't?

Watched the same guy choose him in round 1 (pick 8) and MJD in round 2. I think CJ is in for a better season than last year but not near the 1st round value that people are drafting him.

I see CJ having a HUGE chip on his shoulder after everyone said he wasn't worth the payday. He has been in camp, and they say he is in the best shape of his life. Not to mentioned, CJ is durable! Its not often nowadays that you can find a RB who will most likely play all 16 games.

You mean the same Chris Johnson that is capable of a 2k yard season? The Chris Johnson that plays on a team that loves to run, has no backup threat and plays behind a very good offensive line? The Chris Johnson who even though he was subpar last year, after holdout and lockout, still finished with over 1000 yards?
I'm picking 7th in my draft. If the top 6 players are gone and MJD doesn't report before Saturday, CJ will be my pick.

The same Chris Johnson that had an unthinkable bad year and still finished in the top 10 among RBs. The one with an incredibly high ceiling?

He's a definite first round pick.

Im picking 7 in a draft this weekend and snagging him and trying to land DMC in the second.

Couldn't disagree more. Where was that chip on his shoulder last season, after "everyone said he wasn't worth the payday"? I mean, he did sign the contract he wanted before the season started. Yet he was completely indifferent and apathetic throughout the season (IMO). So I don't see this year being any different than last.
I think he belongs somewhere late-2nd to early-3rd round (18-25 or so). I have several RBs ahead of him - Foster, Rice, McCoy, Forte, AP, and DMC.

CJ will be a top 5 fantasy RB this year

We'll see. If it turns out he has a great season and is one of the 10 best fantasy performers, then I'll eat my words. I just don't see it happening.

Look at the 2nd half of the season- you can make an aurgument that the first half was essentially his training camp.
2nd half stats- 681 rushing, on pace for 1362.

Of course the top 3 rbs are ahead of him.

Forte
Doesn't score TDs

AP
Coming off injury

DMC
Always injured, but still going around the same position as CJ.
RBs are at a premium this year, especially how teams are using them and the amount of question marks on all of them out of the top 3. I'll take CJ before Forte, AP, Dmac and the majority of other RBs.

Dude, he was top 10 RB last year in a shittty season. He is durable. He has a full offseason/training camp. No backup RB to take away carries/goal line looks. Titans reported he is in the best shape of his life.
Make an argument for Forte/DMC to be better than him.

I've won my 10-team league 2 out of the last 3 years. Thanks.

Difference of opinion, I guess. We'll see how the season plays out.
Like I said, if he's a top-10 fantasy player this year, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong.
