re: Americans Abroad Thread

Very good news indeed. The German u21s are playing a game in like a week or two, so it's expected that he'll turn down that offer and play in the friendly for us. Looks like us being the first to offer him a full national team opportunity was the deciding factor. I mentioned it in another thread, but I think the Julian Green saga will play out similarly- whoever shows a more genuine interest and "plan" for him, so to speak, will be the team he plays for.

We should just tell him he's the future and we're gonna build around him. Who gives a shite if it's actually true.

Yeah, I had a, "c'mon man" moment as soon as he left his feet. He had a point, though.

LINK
Ives' recent podcast with special guest Paul Arriola, the 18 year old American who has been playing pretty well for the Tijuana first team as of late. Also got some talk about the Charlie Davies, Juan Agudelo, and Alejandro Bedoya moves.

God, the Xolos are stacked.

I read someplace that Arriola has been working to gain Mexican Citizenship. Did that come up on the podcast?

I haven't listened to it yet, but it probably does. It's not to be a Mexican team player. I think it's honestly regarding visa issues/international player slots and stuff like that. He has a Mexican grandfather so that's how he qualifies. He actually still lives in California with his parents and crosses the border for training and games.

JAB scores in his debut with Hertha. Bobby Wood got an assist in his game yesterday too. Americans are taking over the Bundesliga.

Here's the goal. Nothing special just right place right time situation. Still a pretty decent strike.
