Parents are coming into town and are looking for dinner options. They are simple people who like casual restaurants. No Commander's Palace or Brennan's for them. In the past, they have liked places like R&O's, Mandina's, etc. Any suggestions?

Boucherie just because it's relatively new

Not terribly fancy or pricey. Good value, great food.

No. No they don't. Just good food.

Not sure where this is rated, or if it's considered casual (seemed like it to me), but Sylvain is pretty damn good.

Lakeview Harbor, Liuzzas, Parkway Bakery

ETA: you should make your subject less vague...people come on here every day asking about dinner in new orleans, and the threads are getting fewer and fewer replies. rarely do people ask for a cheap place to eat, though, so this thread has potential

I remember you mentioning you were going a while back and were asking for recommendations.

I don't know if I ever saw your follow up update or whatever
