Oops, when I said cliffhanger I should've clarified that as being episode 9. I think there will be a lot of heartbroken fans, especially the females like myself.

And I want to know if Kevan Lannister will be back in season 4 and if they are going to recast him or not.

He really has to be. Just have the excuse he was commanding Tywin's war effort. Pretty easy to fix.

And I'm thinking that would be the second to last scene. The next two seasons are going to be very Jon heavy.

Ser Kevan dropped one of the biggest booms in the books at the beginning of AFFC. "Aye, and I suspect his father too."

I think they really need to focus more on Jon for the next 4 seasons. His POV's, along with Jaime and Arya, are my favorites to read. But I'm disappointed in how the show hasn't done justice to his story.

The writing for Jon's story this past season was lacking compared to the books. I don't think it's Kit's fault necessarily but I place the blame more so on the mediocre writing that Jon's story has suffered from in the show, most glaringly in season 3. Why change up his interactions with Mance and Tormund? Tormund is hilarious and there was just 1 scene this season showing that he liked Jon/being funny around him. I really loved how Mance said he had been to Winterfell over the years and how Jon gave him his reason of being a bastard for joining. It really shows that Jon was committed to Quorin's quest but also showing how much he hates being a bastard/how he's been treated his whole life. He's so conflicted in the books and I hope they show more of that.

In summary/ the TLDR version, show more Jon and less of Dany next season.

100% agree

I thought the Quorin death scene sucked in the S2 finale too. It barely even made sense if you didn't have the background of the books IMO.

Yeah, definitely. The book explained Quorin's request/mission for Jon a zillion times better than the show did. And yes, I would say Jon had conflicted feelings FWIW, especially towards Ygritte. On one hand, he knew he was breaking his vows, but on the other hand, he loved Ygritte and sex.

I also think that the conversation he had with Maester Aemon in season 1 about staying vs. going to his family has a lot of significance for books 6 and 7. If it weren't for Sam, Jon would've deserted and joined Robb. I think with his "death" and possible/likely resurrection, he's going to leave the Watch, meet Howland Reed and/or find out the truth of his parentage in the crypts of Winterfell, and go wreck shite and avenge his family's deaths/seek justice for Westeros. I could see Stannis supporting him once he finds out the truth that Jon is Azor Ahai.

This is very similar to what Rob went through but chose love over duty/honor.

He chose...poorly.

John broke his vows to the night's watch to better serve the watch as a spy and he is human but when making the decision to choose Ygritte or the Watch... He chose wisely.

The consequences/rewards of making moral dilemma decisions is a running theme throughout many of the books.

Take Daenerys, she continually makes compassionate decisions over pragmatic ones and they usually come back to haunt her in the short term... Yet somehow, she always manages to come out ahead in the end.

Like with the witch and Drogo... She lost a son and husband but ended up with three dragons.

It will be interesting to see how she comes out ahead in Mereen.

Could Uncat be the many faced god made flesh? Could she lead the army of Others against Azor Ahai? (presumably Jon) She hates Jon.

Also, who do you think gets the honor of killing Walder Frey? Hopefully Howland Reed.

And a great crackpot theory from the WOIAF board here: (long)

quote:

My theory is that Ashara Dayne is still alive, living in the Neck, and married to Howland Reed. I believe they met at Harrenhal, fell in love, and married. Meera was conceived almost immediately, and it was a pregnant Ashara who went back to Starfall or King’s Landing—perhaps forcibly sent there by her parents. After the Tower of Joy, Howland picked up Ashara from Starfall, along with their daughter, and went North. The story was put about that Ashara died, and she assumed the name Jyana Reed. Once at Greywater Watch, the couple had Jojen as well, and have been living there ever since. In sum, H+A=M & J The evidence in brief is: The Tourney at Harrenhal: Howland Reed is watching Ashara and actually makes a list of all the people that she dances with. This has no bearing on the rest of the KotLT story, and yet it is mentioned. Why? Meera, who is telling the story, would have no reason to mention this to Bran and yet she does. Why? We are told by Barristan that Ashara had a daughter. If that daughter was not stillborn, and lived, Meera is one of the only candidates, due to being the right age and gender. She is about nine or ten months older than Jon, and therefore one of the only known characters born in the beginning of Robert's Rebellion. Jojen got grey water fever, which is odd because while it affects the Ironborn, you would think that the crannogmen would be immune to it. His eyes are moss-green, which is a color given to mark seers. But what color were they before the fever? Barristan Selmy, who loved Ashara, remarks that: "She wants fire, and Dorne sent her mud. You could make a poultice out of mud to cool a fever. You could plant seeds in mud and grow a crop to feed your children. Mud would nourish you, where fire would only consume you, but fools and children and young girls would choose fire every time." Considering how many things he has been wrong about so far, is he wrong about this too? Did Ashara choose an actual "mudman"? We are told that Ned would have died at the TOJ but for Howland Reed. What does this mean? Was it crannog magic, or was Howland Arthur's brother-in-law? Why was Ned so quick to defend Ashara if R+L=J? It would make sense if she was the wife of his bannerman. There is specific language over and over again with regards to the Reeds and Bran. Towers, Stars, Falling, and Summer come up constantly. Hints for Starfall, Palestone Tower, and the Summer Sea, perhaps? The Dornish are looked down on by the other kingsdoms, as are the crannogmen. The crannogmen are reviled for their guerrilla tactics, which are considered cowardly, something the Dornish also have in common with them. Howland has spent his life among the water, just as Ashara spent hers on the edges of the Summer Sea. House Reed also has an ongoing feud with House Frey, just as House Dayne has an ongoing feud with House Oakheart. Common ground for a romance?

I think she will end up running into Howland Reed in the Neck and will learn the truth concerning Jon Snow's birth.

Her feelings towards Jon Snow will then take a dramatic turn.

I think one of his own kids ends up killing him because...

1. He's a Frey (the kid)
2. They have already cursed themselves beyond redemption with guest rights and the red wedding...Might as well double down with kinslaying.

I posted that same link a few pages ago . It's a crackpot theory I can put my support behind for sure.

Fat man needs to put Howland in book 6...he's been dragging his character intro out.

Yeah, Maege Mormont & Jason Mallister are in Greywater Watch. I'm wondering if Howland is going to confirm R+L=J to them. It would strengthen the Great Northern Conspiracy.

I think it will be Sansa. Littlefinger will sack the Twins in her name, and Sansa will corner him as Littlefinger looks on on the woman he created.
