re: Crackpot ASOIAF Theories SPOILERS

quote:

Targaryen/Blackfyre:

Aegon
Jon
Dany
I think you are right on everything but this group.

It should be:

Dany
Aegon
Jon

Dany was Rhaegar's sister, and since Rhaegar was never crowned as king, his offspring do not supersede his siblings.

Also, that is assuming that Aegon is actually Rhaegar's child and not a Blackfyre.

If he is a Blackfyre, it should then be:

Dany
Jon
Aegon

Anyone else think they may skip the Sansa/Tyrion wedding on the show?

I think they could get away with leaving their marriage out.

But they'll probably leave it in just for the drama

I feel like they'll do all of them. Tyrion is the most important character on the show. I think this season is all about weddings

Depends, if its a major factor in the book I would assume yes or if not a huge cost to the show then why not?

Given how they highlighted Shae's jealousy during the last episode when Tyrion talked about Ros and Sansa I'd say they will definitely be keeping it in there. They will probably use it as a reasoning for when Shae winds up betraying him and in Tywin's bed.

He was the crowned prince and 1st in line so Aegon & Jon would be ahead of Dany. Hell, in the introduction to ADWD the book is described as having a character that could undo Dany's claim forever.

quote:

ETa: On a similiar note, I believe in that chapter Theon sees Whoresbane and Manderly chatting which is very interesting. In ACOK, Luwin and Rodrik commaned the Umbers, Whoresbane and Mors, to work with Manderly on water defense against the wildings. That would lead me to believe they've been in contact for a while and are in league against Bolton.

Yup. Makes you wonder what Manderly plans on doing with his hidden fleet too.

Also, just about every noble family in the north has reason to turn against the Boltons/Freys, whether they had someone die or get captured in the Red Wedding, Sack of Winterfell, Roose's Duskendale trap, or Ramsey being a douche bag.

IIRC, other men (besides the men you mentioned) that are in Winterfell with Bolton are:
Cerwyns - Lord Cerwyn's son died in the Sack of Winterfell
Hornwood Men - Lady Hornwood (who's also a Manderly) was imprisoned and starved to death by Ramsay
Lockes - The Lockes lost men in the Red Wedding. Robett Glover's wife is also a Locke (Robett was also one of the men sent to Duskendale by Roose, but was traded for another prisoner and ended up in White Harbor).
Tallharts - A Tallhart died in Duskendale and another in the Sack of Winterfell.

Also, aside from Mors' men outside Winterfell, I think there may be another army waiting somewhere from White Harbor.

Other tidings were of greater interest. Robett Glover was in the city and had been trying to raise men, with little success. Lord Manderly had turned a deaf ear to his pleas. White Harbor was weary of war, he was reported to have said(adwd, p. 198).

Manderly weary of war? We know he's been plotting behind Roose's back, so I doubt that. Plus, Manderly tells this to Davos:

“I have been building warships for more than a year. Some you saw, but there are as many more hidden up the White Knife. Even with the losses I have suffered, I still command more heavy horse than any other lord north of the Neck. My walls are strong, and my vaults are full of silver. Oldcastle and Widow’s Watch will take their lead from me. My bannermen include a dozen petty lords and a hundred landed knights. I can deliver King Stannis the allegiance of all the lands east of the White Knife, from Widow’s Watch and Ramsgate to the Sheepshead Hills and the headwaters of the Broken Branch. All this I pledge to do if you will meet my price.” (adwd, p. 392)

The Boltons and Freys don't stand a chance.

With the prophecies about Cersi's kids and with Stannis fate uncertain, there could be major cluster F in having a viable monarch. Not that things in Westeros haven't been a cluster all along.

None of that matters if one of the claimants has dragons when the others don't.

I believe at least two of the three Targaryens will have dragons, most likely Aegon and Dany.

Robett and Wylis have an army of heavy horse somewhere near Winterfell, IMO.

Exactly. What claim did Aegon I have on Westeros, besides 3 dragons?

Yeah, but the Citadel is on top of that shite. They are going to try to bring them down.

ETA: Rereading Feast summaries, apparently not. Details in the next post.

More evidence that Serella is Alleres the Sphinx...

In Feast, Sam gets to Oldtown to tell the Citadel (Per Maester Aemon's request)..

quote:

Samwell then tells Alleras the story of how he reached Oldtown, leaving out only the promises he was sworn to keep. After hearing all that had transpired, especially Maester Aemon's plea that the Citadel learn of Daenerys, Alleras tells him to forget the Seneschal. The Archmaesters will believe little of what Sam has to say, but there is one who will- Archmaester Marwyn

Then...

quote:

To this, Archmaester Marwyn reveals how fickle and treacherous prophecy can be, but he is still intrigued. He makes it clear to Sam that Maester Aemon may have been killed by the Archmaesters had he spoken his mind to them. When Sam inquires why, Marwyn replies, "Who do you think killed all the dragons the last time around? The world the Citadel is building has no place in it for sorcery or prophecy or glass candles, much less for dragons. Ask yourself why Aemon Targaryen was allowed to waste his life upon the Wall, when by rights he should have been raised to archmaester. His blood was why. He could not be trusted. No more than I can."

Apparently, the Citadel wants the Dragons destroyed again, to keep magic away. Alleras, who intercepted Sam brought him somewhere else. We know Dorne wants Dany and the dragons in Westeros. Alleras keeps him from revealing all to the Citadel.

I'm starting to feel like I need a flow chart of who is connected to who (and possibly who they are) and etc.

Sorry...Serella is a Sand Snake. She wasn't locked up in the Tower because Doran said "Leave her to her game". I had a coworker say that she thought Serella was Lady Merryweather, leading Cersei up the wrong path, but upon limited research, it appears that she is in Oldtown training to be a Maester under the name Alleres (Serella backwards).

I already made a chart of all the Northern lords, their current location, and some other notes on them

interesting, especially this
quote:

Who do you think killed all the dragons the last time around?
looking for details, i found this:

quote:

Archmaester Marwyn revealed it was the maesters of the Citadel who killed off the last dragons of the Targaryens, and are secretly working to eradicate magic.

This made me think that when Aegon the Conqueror forged the Iron Throne, the Archmaesters met together and in secret formed a two-part plan. The first phase of the plan was to eradicate the dragons, possibly through poison and bad advice to the Targaryens on caring for dragons.

After phase one was complete, jump to phase two where the Citadel now turns on the Targaryens themselves. To overthrow the Targaryens, they would need combined forces of several regions. Maester Walys, according to Lady Dustin, gave Lord Rickard Stark the idea of marrying his heir to Catelyn Tully to forge an alliance between the North and the Riverlands. This is just speculation, but maybe Walys even suggested Eddard be sent to foster at the Eyrie with the Lord of Storm's End to create friendship between the Eyrie, Winterfell and Storm's End. For those who believe R+L=J, I always thought, why didn't Lyanna leave behind a letter to explain everything when decided to run off with Rhaegar? I am thinking maybe she did leave a letter, but she entrusted it to Maester Walys to give it to her father, but instead Walys hid the letter or burned it, knowing that it would lead to her family thinking she was abducted, and could lead to conflict between the Starks along with her bethrothed, Robert Baratheon and the Iron Throne with the Starks and Baratheons having allies in the the Arryns, who out of honor would help the Starks get their sister, like Elbert Arryn proved in going with Brandon to King's Landing, and the Tullys who would be bound to the Starks by marriage. Throw Mad King Aerys into the mix, and you have a recipe for war.
