He's speculating, and the onlay place his arse belongs is on the bench.

Until he moves to a league that is better than sub MLS quality, there is no reason he should be starting on the US National Team.

Also, we've experimented with Edu at CB, and while he is serviceable and has decent distribution and is athletic, he really is more of a midfielder.

For those of you who have forgotten, he started at CB during the 2008 olympics and was meh.

Yea I didn't remember Edu's move to central defense for the national team being all that successful although not a disaster.

He didnt look comfortable there at all before. I dont think he should see anytime at DM given the depth we have at that position. This might be his best chance of securing a regular place on the USMNT.

Me too. So long as it isn't at RM again.

Reports are he's practicing at DM.
Who plays RM in his spot, though?

For the front 6 I'd go: boyd(herc in at half), Donovan, torres, jones, Williams and one of Shea/Beasley

I'm not seeing much defense in that midfield other than DW and JJ.

Has Torres created any goals for us?

---------------Boyd--------------
---Beasley------LD----------Torres--
----------Jones----Williams--------

or

----Shea--------Boyd----------LD----
---------Torres-------Jones----------
------------Williams(Beckerman)-------

Don't really need more than 2 defensive midfielders, Williams will definitely be more defensive and I imagine JJ will go box to box.

He created one against Scotland IIRC. Not sure otherwise, he can be a creative player or play more of a holding role.

I rate Torres. Has good technical ability and quick with the passes.
