re: *** July Unemployment @ 8.3 ***

I lost my job in October, 2011. Since then, I have become a free lancer for televised events (mostly sports). I thank God every day that I'm not on unemployment, and don't have to go out looking for a job in this dog shite economy.

Despite Obama's idiocy, this is still a great country.

Obama has done NOTHING to put this country on a path back to prosperity.

I suppose this = cutting taxes? Cutting spending will not improve job numbers; cutting tax rates and reforming the tax code to be revenue neutral will obviously change nothing either in real terms, and possibly make things worse.

Eliminating government waste and allowing the free citizens of the US to determine where to spend their money won't increase employment?

Someone has to work to accept that money dude.

NOW if you're arguing that the total amount of government employees will shrink, well yes, that is true. How about we raise taxes to 100% and then everyone can be a government employee! After all, our government is so efficient that I'll bet they can make our society run better.

Not in the short term, no.

Consider the economic success of dear leader Paul Ryan's hometown, which is due entirely to govt spending.

You mean none of the liberals have come to Obama's defense on the economy?

So you would need a pretty substantial net job gain to keep up with population growth

You're joking, right? Since when did babies become job eligible?

Ok, so in 1991 there were 4.1M babies born, they are now 21 years old. Happy?

So explain how the population increase from July to August affected the unemployment increase for that time period.

The real rate is over 20% in the state of Nevada. And over 17% in an important swing state of Florida.
