I don't think there's any doubt that Team USA >>>>>>>>> Summer League

quote:

Nobody will benefit more from this experience than the Hornets, said Team USA assistant Nate McMillan, citing Davis’s opportunity to simply watch how players like Durant, James and Bryant prepare themselves for competition. Nothing can replicate that. “It’s getting him over that fear of seeing these guys for the first time,” McMillan said. “When he sees them during the regular season, it’s going to be: ‘That was my teammate.’”

You know McMillan is keeping an eye on Davis for his protege Monty.

Also of note from this article on Davis' experience as Team USA's errand boy:
quote:

“He comes in, gets his work done early in the weight room, works on different moves in the post,” Team USA forward Kevin Love said. “He doesn’t want to just shoot a jumper, and he doesn’t just want to dunk. He wants to improve his weakness, and he listens. He’s going to be a problem in the NBA.”

Assistant coach Mike D’Antoni put it this way: “He doesn’t have any flaws, other than being 19.”

And OKC is going down

quote:

Davis’s duties primarily involve retrieving Gatorade, riding in the back of the bus and warding off threats of having his unibrow forcibly removed — while he was shaking hands with President Barack Obama. For the record, he said, no one has been tougher on him than Russell Westbrook, a salty veteran at age 23.

Since this was buried in the tomfoolery of the Kobe thread I thought people might have missed it.

I agree with that, especially the part you bolded. AD is on path to be a superstar. The Olympics will be huge for his development and transition IMO>

When do we play OKC? Can't wait for AD to send one of Westbrooks dunk attempts into the stands.

I will be very surprised if AD doesn't win rookie of the year (assuming he stays healthy).

When Davis hit that and one 3 point shot versus DR, I believe RW0 was the first one off the bench to help him up and congratulate him, was he not ? Probably just tough love from Westbrook.

I think it was CP3 who was first, but im sure Westbrook was in there congratulating him. Westbrook is probably still butthurt about losing the championship along with the fact that Davis is already getting more attention than him. Or it could just be tough love.

Pretty sure it means that Westbrook is pushing Davis harder than anyone else on the team, which is good. Why would Westbrook be jealous and be a dick to his USA teammate?

People hate players that score a lot in loses
going 45 points on 30 shots is great, but only having 5 ast and losing when you don't get the ball to the #1 scorer in the NBA gets you some heat.

This is so much better than Summer-League for AD, Kobe can teach him more than just basketball. He can steer him clear of leaches, how if he is not careful,he could have a dozen women claiming her baby has a unibrow. He surely has privately commented on other team members, if any jealousy is there Kobe has probably told him.
The Unibrow got mentioned by Obama,on tv all the time, and even the British press know the Unibrow. They surely know Kobe,Lebron, probably Durant and Mello. Several of the players are less popular than 'brow, so fukem.... AD is the future star of the Hornets.

OKC doesn't get many assists. their assist ratio was like last or 2nd to last in the NBA last year. their offense is iso

he needs to get open more and demand the ball

it is VERY rare that durant gets open, calls for the ball, and doesn't get it

durant's biggest problem is that he's totally content to just sit around passively
