New Cable Modem.

The wife asked me what I wanted as an anniversary present and I've decided that I want to upgrade my modem. Right now I'm running a piece of shite netgear from Charter because my SMC died.
Anyways, this is what I want but I wanted to get some recommendations from the all mighty gaming board.
I'm going to back it with a DD-WRT powered Linksys Wrt54G router.

I am really a novice when it comes to this stuff. I have 1 device. A motorola that is wireless. But I would maybe upgrade if I could speed up my junk.

Anyways, people in the reviews are saying that they've had a noticeable change in latency and download speed even with multiple devices pulling off of it. That's really the reason I want to upgrade because we have some much going on(internet wise) in the house. My wife will be streaming Netflix while downloading books/music and listening to Spotify all at the same time(while I'm trying to pwn noobz).

its a nice modem... Docsis 3 will allow more efficient bandwidth and more stable connections.
Think of it like this.
All your data was going through 1 cord.
Now it will be split amongst several cords.
Its actually much more complicated than that.
You may see speed boosts due to a more stable connection.
