I would suggest Hackberry Rod and Gun, great room, food and fishing.

My buddy guides, but right now the water is messed up.
He does trips inland and goes to the first rigs for bigger trout.
When they catching at the rigs, that's the way to go...

What do they typically catch them on at the rigs?

ETA: I only fished them once, and it was with a guide and I was too hungover to remember what we used

How bad is it? My boss wants me to bring him and his son out on Friday but I think the water will be filthy. We got rain here again today. One of my boys got into some good water off salt ditch about a week ago and prob boated 40 or so reds but even then water was hit and miss and just more rain ever since.

I really need to make a trip out there. I've had 3 trips cancelled in the last year, but I feel like I need to wait until later in the year when it's supposed to get wild out there.

I went with our ex-guide buddy and we used a little bait fish hooked through the lips with a regular ole lead head. Ripped the lips that day.

I concur with Capt. Sam Bordelon.

I have no idea. I am from NELA. We stopped and he threw a cast net about three times and we were on our way. I think any little bait fish would have worked that day. They didn't last long once we casted them around the rig. We were kind of just pitching it under the structure. The fish would either hit it within a couple of seconds or when you jigged it the first time.
