I'd like to read some of the Batman comics specifically, but didn't want to clog the board up with another thread.

Can someone recommend the best Batman comics? Feel free to add any other comics or GNs, as well.

Batman Year 1
The Killing Joke
Batman: Arkham Asylum
The Dark Knight Returns

Should all be on anyone's list.

I concur on this list and hush.

really liked Batman: RIP by morrison. the most recent arc they did, court of owls is pretty epic shite.

the long halloween is a good one as well.

I really like Batman: Hush. Really good story with a bunch of DC characters.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - The art is very different in this one, and although not my favorite, it is still a good read.

Those are the only Batman graphic novels I own.

Others I would recommend:

The Sandman series
Watchmen
Kickass

I don't really have that many. Only other ones I have are:

Flashpoint
Green Lantern: Secret Origin and Sinestro Corps War
Amory Wars comics (based on Coheed and Cambria music albums)

Year 1 and the Dark Knight Returns are good background for the "new" approach to Batman in the Nolan films, though the movies aren't necessarily based on them.

I agree but the constant "events" are burning me out.

as of late, i agree. it also seems his focus isnt there. the stroy telling is getting a bit repetitive. johns primary is now aquaman and JLA. but its still pretty fun.

That it is. Favorite thing I'm reading now is the Shazam backup, Flash and Aquaman.

I never thought I'd type those words.

Oh yeah I forgot that one. Talia is a bad bitch. If Nolan was doing a fourth, he should've set up her and Leviathan for that one.

I really enjoyed the take on him in Flashpoint with multiple kids making him up. I'm guessing that's where Johns is headed here too.
