Colt Python Value...

Anybody know the approximate value of a Colt Python that is in pretty damn good shape?
I got this one this past weekend and want to give a fair price for it. The ones online are from $700-$5000. Anything to look for to set it apart from the others?
BTW, the thing is badass and shoots like a dream.

You said you want to sell it or just figure out its value? If you're trying to sell it, I'm your guy!
What a beautiful piece! Pythons/Anacondas are some sweet revolvers.

Is it stainless or nickel?
Probably around $1500-2k for a value without know much about it.
ETA; The Python is probably the best DA revolver ever made.
Congrats you lucky bastard...

It was given to me, but I have to pay my wife's grandmother for it. She has no idea what its worth (and probably doesn't expect me to pay her for it), but I don't want to screw her over. I'm poor, so I don't want to overpay. Trying to give her a fair market value.

Well given that it's family, and you get the "family discount," I'd say throw her $500 and call it done.

Almost positive it is stainless. It may be nickel, but I assumed stainless. I'll have to check it out this evening.

Unfortunately for one of you, she gave you a very valuable firearm

It is a 4".
I don't know if y'all remember a few months ago when I was selling a bunch of guns or not. My wife's step grandfather had a lot of guns he wanted to sell because he was in bad health. I sold them all for him through my personal contacts. He had a few guns he told me not to sell, the Python being one of them. He said he would let me have it when he died. Unfortunately he died a couple weeks ago (which was expected, but still sad nonetheless).

My gfs dad had a 4 inch blue python he had me sell. It was probably like 95%, but missing the box and grips. We got 1200 for it.
If we would have had everything, it could have been 1500 or more.
