There was a 10 page thread about him and no comments about Dauber from the TV series Coach? We have to call him Dauber!

Other than the name I fail to see any similarities between them, In addition it would be a little insulting as that character was known for not being too bright. So no.

Yes it is the name,, but he was an all-american football player for coach Fox and he graduated and became an assistant coach for Minnesota St. Actually it was a joke...it was the 1st thing that popped in my head when I saw his name.
