This kid is one of those that is flying under the radar. He is starting to turn heads and get his name out there. Would be a great prospect to pick up.

Steve, are you going down to the LSU camp?

Would have to wow the staff to get offered at this time. I hope he and the OP Walker kid(if he would camp) both show out this week/year and put their names on the LSU board. Both have good potential. Our board is so stacked though. I think we'd have to miss on all of Williams, Gilmore,Prevot, Pagano for them to get a hard look.

Me and another coach are taking him down today. We know he has to have a great camp, but he is way more athletic than most big men. He also has the build to bulk up and play inside. It will be fun watching him he camps well.

game film

7 on 7 yes we put him in a 3 pt stance at WR.

J5 you are the man. Before school gets fired up in a few weeks we need to drink a few beers.

Hmmm...Pretty athletic. If he can bulk up, might be a Logan-type guy. Would take a few years, hope he shows out.

This is where some thoughtful recruiting might be in order. We have a lot of players and commitments for DB/WR types.
What is the incremental value of signing one more? ( A bunch of good ones are at camp and/ or being considered). I like all of them.
I wonder if the incremental reward/risk equation might counsel consideration of a raw recruit on the DL like Gray?

Right now, I think he has offers from schools like Southern Miss, La Tech, ULL, McNeese, etc. I'm very intrigued by this kid's upside. I know if we land Williams, we're done at DE, but I'm wondering if we whiff on other DT prospects, if we'd consider a kid like Gray who might have the frame to bulk up into a DT after a redshirt year.

Steve, do you know if the staff has thought of him as a project type recruit who can bulk up to play inside? And do you think he has the frame to do so?

Then you must know him. He's a great kid. How you could be impressed with him more than the big man is good stuff.

Shea/Sonny say Gray looked very good yeterday. May be a guy to keep an eye on later. Top shelf athlete at that size.

I saw him yesterday. Big kid. Not a Mingo body type. Probably more like Edwards.
