Don't have time for a fill review, but I have eaten at the Joel roubichons and numerous other Michelin starred restsurants. Eleven Madison makes the rest look average. Far and away the best meal of my life.

EMP and Per Se are 1 and 1A on my list of places to eat. Sounds like you had a great time...

Yep. $800

We were drinking a white Burgundy then a 1991 barolo. So some of it was self-inflicted.

I will certainly try.

Babbo and Danji were the other high notes so far.

No chance you checked the wine labels at EMP. A few months ago, a few wine people from New Orleans went to lunch there. Turns out all the old Burgundies on the list, were Katrina salavaged wines that EMP had bought at auction. Of course, the prices didn't reflect the discount they got on wines that sat for weeks in less than ideal temps.

How did they determine this? Did someone at the restaurant spill the beans or were they just able to surmise it by the funky looking mold residue on the bottles?

Interesting either way.

The looked on the back of the bottle, saw the importers name, and asked the sommelier where they got it.
