IIRC, that image is from when Goku and Ginyu body swapped. After realizing that it was in fact Goku in Ginyu's body, Gohan visualized how it would be having his father appear that way from then on.

The more I watch the Cell saga, the more i convince myself that it's my favorite in the Z series. It's constantly packed with excitement and anticipation. It doesn't have much boring filler, and very few low points.

That's when I started watching (my first fight was Android 17/Piccolo). I love the early Namek stuff though when you have all of these entities looking for the Dragon Balls and they're all unaware of each other (for the most part).

I agree. Also contains probably the most badass moment in the show.

I started watching at the beginning with Raditz when they were first airing in America. Then they lost me for a while at some point right after the Frieza saga. They just kept on dragging things on. The eternal build up towards Super Saiyan and then Namek being about to blow up wore me out as a kid. Then the wait after seemed to take forever for more episodes to come out.

I didn't go back to watch the other sagas until later when I was checking DBZ out because of nostalgia.

Yeah, I think the Frieza/Goku fight lasted 35 episodes.

Yeah it took them about three years to put out new episodes right about when Goku got to Namek. I always remember the preview of Goku fighting Jeese and Batta, then the next day they were always playing the first episode again.

I was so pissed and sad at the same time that day.

My favorite is the cell saga easily. Though the battle with frieza is better than the battles with the Android before cell is perfect. I know it has some filler and all that but I'll never forget vegeta crying and krillin dying both times and piccolo getting pin blasted to pieces and Goku finally turning into a super saying. That battle holds a special place in my childhood memories.

It's a tough call though depending on the day because the ginu force is hilarious and Cpt. Ginu is one of my fav characters.

i always hated how Piccolo was never stronger. He fused with Nail and with Kame and was still not really THAT strong.

He beat the shite out of Frieza's third form though.

That bothered the frick out of me as a kid. He was the only character they could've realistically and easily made strong enough to be a contender with the sayains. Although that was kind of the point even though he was the strongest nonsayain, trunks and vegeta and Goku and Gohan as regular super sayains couldn't compete with cell and could barely compete with the Androids.

Same goes for frieza. No one could compete until Goku went super sayain. Not even a fused Namekian.
