Any restaurants in this area? Going up soon for work and after looking at the map, it doesn't look like there is much there!

Thanks in advance

Fish Tails is in St. Joseph just a few miles south of Newellton. The owner is associated with Sammy's somehow. My inlaws live on the lake and said it is pretty good. Also the Lake Bruin grocery makes a pretty good burger. There isn't a lot to eat around Newellton.

...there was a chef serving a few meals a week on Bruin a few years back...don't know if he still is. Drive to Vicks burg. Where the hell are you staying around there?

If staying in Natchez, give Roux 61 a try. It is pretty good. It is on the south side of town on 61

Don't speed through Waterproof. The sign says 45 mph and they damn well mean it.

The Mexican place on top of the hill inNatchez always has a good crowd, but I've not been there. I want to try the tamales from the donut joint.

Burgers from Jerry's Donuts in Vidallia are mighty fine too.

Fat Mama is an ok tamale.

I really enjoy PigOut barbeque.

Magnolia Grill is an ok place, I assume it is still open under the hill. Pearl St Pasta used to be good, I heard it has gone downhill.

Roux 61 is good. I had some kind of redfish with shrimp thing that was good last time. I have also had a decent steak there on a couple of occasions.

back in 79, the Bears Den in downtown scenic Newellton was a cool cafe. Maybe its because I was 10, and everything outside my mamas kitchen was exciting.

Their homemade buns are awesome. They do close at 2 though. They make a good kolache as well.

Never tried their donuts.

I was through Vidalia and Natchez today on my way down through Woodville. No time to stop to eat though. Will give it a try next time for sure.
