Let me guess...your hobbies include not reading any and all books, watching Ultimate Fighter while talkin' to your "boo" on your cell, and then gettin' f****ed up "in da club" with all that money you pull down from working offshore!

re: Have you ever Toy Scalped?

I don't collect toys and to be honest can't understand how some can. It's not that I find collecting to be a problem. My problem is keeping myself from opening the toy and playin with it.

I'm 25 and no longer have any toys but if I did, they'd be opened and little pieces would be lost or being used by someone it wasn't intended for.

Leonardo used to run around with Skywalkers lightsaber while wearing a wwf championship belt in my house.

They are all definitely Mint on Card and never been punched. I just did a look on Ebay...not really excited about their pricing but I'm not sure what kind of condition those are in.

They all look around $20 which is a little bit more than I paid.

I remember paying $25 for Leatherhead and the one on Ebay is like $20. Not real enthused at the moment.

I'd have them graded if I were you. It'll cost you, but you'll get a lot more back than if you don't. Plus, there's a new TMNT cartoon and toys coming out, plus a live-action movie next year. "Turtle Fever" will be high and the nostalgic non-collector may want to buy your figures.

I open and display most of my stuff. Sometimes, I'll buy duplicates that I display unopened, esp. if the figures are going to be rare or are high-end collectibles.

I don't play with my open figures, but I do pose them and change my displays.

As I've explained it to other people, I collect because I enjoy the characters and because I appreciate the artistry that went into the figures. The sculpting and paint applications are what collectors generally appreciate and buy for. It's not unlike collecting sculptures or statues.

And I do want to apologize to the OP for my response. I was having a rough day and was working on little sleep to boot.

As an action figure collector, I have NEVER scalped and frankly, people like you who do make me angry to the point of wanting to do you violence. I was on one of my usual hunts, looking for Transformers at a local Wal-Mart. I see these two guys putting multiples of the same figures in their baskets. They were fat, unwashed-looking, with long hair and mangy beards and tats and piercings. I could practically smell them. I very much wanted to, at the least, ram their carts with mine and grab their stuff. At most, maybe give them a permanent reminder of why they're scum. It's one thing to buy items and sell them with a slight markup on eBay. That's honorable. But a tremendous markup (like what YOU did) to satisfy your greed and take advantage of people who, like yourself, just want to get their child a toy? That's dishonorable. Pray I never see you scalping in person.

So you didn't do shite when you saw people doing it but he should be scared and pray?

re: Have you ever Toy Scalped?

I have but it depends on the toy.

I bought just about every toy made from the first Jurassic Park movie, never opened them, I put them in a big box and kept it in the attic at my parents house.

I still have most of my Star Wars figures and a few vehicles from when I was a kid.

I bought a voice controlled R2D2 when I worked at Disney for $80, cast member discount and I ended up putting it on eBay. It sold for over $300.

Have you ever bought a toy just for the intent of re-sale?

About 7 years ago, they released the ten year anniversary of Tickle Me Elmo TMX. It sold out nationwide in one day. My wife wanted one for my daughter, so I bought one off eBay for $70 (seller had name spelled wrong), but they were selling for around $100 each.

Three days after selling out nationwide, I was walking though Wal-Mart in Prairieville, and the lady was just stocking the stores alottment of 60. I bought 24 of them for $35, sold them within 6 hours for $90 each!!!

I know Hot Wheels are scalped pretty bad.

Hey heres an idea, get a job you worthless piece of shite.
