Convince me to build a gaming PC

I have been going back and forth whether or not to sell my MacBook pro and build a gaming PC. I bought an iPad about a month ago and hardly use my laptop anymore. I have been reading up on Day Z and it makes me very tempted to do it.
Help me make my decision easier!

But I already have my MacBook hooked up to my 42" LCD...
Thought ahead of you!

Most PC games allow you to use your console controllers, so if you aren't a big fan of the mouse and keyboard setup, you can get around it.
But the biggest argument for it.............

It's only 1 game, so I can grin and bear it.

i like having entertainment options. enjoying my gaming PC. WIll get back on xbox when a title captures my interest (ncaa football, maybe)
never know what game might be around the corner. i built a PC for diablo 3.. got bored with it.. Day Z comes out, people here playing it, i had the option to join up with them, and im really enjoying it.

I'd rather get a gaming PC then a laptop. I want to try and build it myself so I can update every couple of years. My iPad really supplies my need of a laptop, so I may try and sell my macbook and build my PC from it. I'm thinking I can get around 1100-1300 for it, so I can build a nice PC.

That's another reason why I want to build one. I've had an xbox for years, so I kinda want to try something new. There's a lot you can do with one too.

1. Steam
2. User-Created Content (See Skyrim)
3. Better Graphics
4. Only missing out on the XBox/Sony exclusives mostly, which means there are a lot of games to play
5. More online shooter options

well if you coiuld get that much for your laptop, you definately have the required capital investment needed for a PC. Will cost ya roughly $700 min to get a decent system up and running.
If your tablet does everything you used your laptop for, and you can get $$ for the laptop and convert it into a viable entertainment option, i say go for it.
turn a non producing investment into one with a high ROI on entertainment value.. seems like a good plan

I actually don't play bf3, I just hate EA.
Origin is just another thing in a long line of stupid things EA has done.
