That is hilarious! I thought the same thing. Either they want way too much for it or it isn't for sale.

The thing that always bothered me is how Rick is always standing behind the counter fiddling with the artifacts on the back shelf and the person walks up to the counter and he turns around. SO stinking staged. I swear that happened 3 to 4 times an episode.

I actually enjoy American Pickers though.

It's just a less formal Antiques Roadshow. Unfortunately neither have any re-watch ability with me.

As for Pawn Stars the people are all classless a-holes that would not be entertaining in any setting, much less a pawn shop.

The low-balling doesn't bother me, as that would be the most real aspect of this reality show.

But yeah, I don't like any show that's pretend, but tries to pas as reality.

How fake it is. My buddy went to vegas a while back and they were filming. He said they haded people things outside to walk in with, filmed, and then took it back after the "fake" transaction was over. They never actually "went and did some paperwork".

The fact that they get paid to make that show, and that people watch it.

I hate that you always know what the opening offer is going to be.

They always offer about half of what someone is asking plus 10% or so.

If someone is asking $800, the first offer is gonna be like $450.

Ricks' annoying arse and awkward laugh.

Rick low balling everyone like a motherfricker.

The hat the old guy (expert) from the museum wears to evaluate old war items.

The fat dumb face of the toy store expert.

Every time Rick asks them "how much you want for it?", no matter the answer, he has to laugh at them in his smoker's laugh. It can be $100 and Rick will laugh and then they settle on $75. If it was real it seems like it would piss some people off.

It's no worse than the media darling...Duck Dynasty.

I actually think the Old Man is way better and more funny than Si is. Happy Happy Happy! Come on seriously?

pretty funny stuff in this thread

Rick's laugh is about the only thing i still like about the show. Reminds me of Farley in Billy Madison (But you can imagine what it'd be like if they did eh? eh?)

Corey thinks his poop don't stink, but if his dad didn't run the shop he'd probably be flipping burgers somewhere. Chumlee is 2 IQ points above being handicapable. The old man just sits in the back and complains but I can't ever understand what he's saying. If I was Rick and had to be surrounded by Cory, Chumlee, and the old man all day long, I'd have gone insane by now

That's called doing business. Hard to hate on a guy for protecting his own bottom-line.

That said, I've disliked the show from its onset. Sure there may be some historical references from time to time but I'm not tuning in to sift through the BS just to find an occasional bit of history.

I hate how the expert is like this thing is valued at say $5000 and then they offer $1200. Like c'mon you jut heard the guy it's crazy. They could make a legitimate offer and still make profit.

But there's no telling how long it will sit in my store, the market isn't really big for ________ right now, and I have to pay a person to take it down and show it to people.

Bottom line, I have to make a profit of 4x what you're going to make to make a living.
