you beat me broski... was just about to post the link to the same thread
but yeah... Evan Stecko-Haley hasn't exactly done well in his last 2 starts... let's hope he has 1 more bad start in him... and it's tomorrow

Hope we can get up? After the end of the first game, we seemed flat.

I'm with you. Let's hope we get him early. My problem is the 2 guys we've already faced- though obviously better than this guy- gave up a total of 14 ER's last weekend in the regional. SB just outscored teams. We didn't touch these guys. So these stats may be a non factor. We simply allow most teams to stay in games due to our lack of hitting. I hope we put all our frustrations behind us tomorrow and crush them anyway.

Well if you look at it that way, our pitching has done a damn good job against this potent lineup, only giving up 5 runs (not including the 2 runs given up in extra innings).
Our bats just need one game where we can actually explode and this is the pitcher we have the best chance of doing that.

even with that said... Stecko-Haley didn't get out of the 4th 2 games ago... and didn't get out the 2nd in his last game.
and that was against Missouri St. and Maine. Hopefully we have better bats (esp in a winner take all game like tom.) than Missouri St. and Maine

Agreed. If we struggle with him.... Well.... Let's not even go there.

This morning was the equivalent of being out on the course, absolutely crushing the opening drive, hitting a beautiful 2nd shot that bites the green about six inches from the hole, and putting an easy birdie. Then, for an hour you have to sit on the 2nd tee box behind a traffic jam on the course with your buddies patting your back telling you how great you are for an hour.

and let me add that when we get to their bullpen... well... all I need to point to is innings 8-12 of game 1

When did they announce Steck-Haley? Last I read was Senk was unsure who would start, but he'd be right-handed.

we're going by who would be most practical... and by that I mean the pitcher that looks to be their 3rd starter... and Stecko-Haley fits the bill
it could be someone different... but until told differently... we're thinking Stecko-Haley

I know what they're going by, but I'm just saying its not definitely going to be him.
