...Northwestern if he is a 4 star and 7th ranked athlete?

Not properly evaluated. Didn't have current film. The media hype machine slower to pick up on him as a result. But he did have one HUGE offer your forgetting. That's the one from LSU. The hometown state who did their homework. I'm hearing from some that they expect white to not only blow it up his senior year but to push for best player in the state honors. Time will tell.

I can understand that when it comes to recruiting services, but rivals has him as a 4 star and 7th ranked athlete. Are you telling me Rivals evaluated him that high but not 1 other major program did? I find that really hard to believe.

Would you feel better about him if he had 40 offers?

Would that make him play better?

Maybe the LSU staff saw something, it's not unheard of recruits slip under the radar.

No, I'm very happy with the committment, I'm just curious to why no other schools (outside of Northwestern who obviously saw his talent way up in Illinois) didn't offer.

Your point is well taken with regards to 2 or 3 star players. His question is about a 4 star not being recruited by other schools. It's not star gazing as much as a head scratcher.

That would be a good question for CLM.

Because he's from Louisiana, LSU offered bery early and he committed very early. Nobody else wants to offer now because it's a waste of time.

I like it, those guys who are quality players and don't get a lot recognition often excel because the have something to prove. They work harder because of the chip on their shoulder to prove their worth. Plus most are not egotistical like some of the five stars can be.

His question is valid and my response wasn't in regards to star gazing.

I just come to the RB this morning, while LSU is on a roll and see all the stupid and negative bullshite and wonder WTF?
I over reacted. Apologies.

Was he a 4 star before LSU offered or did LSU's off make Rivals take a closer look at him?

I don't remember White always being a 4* player.

He's been a 4 star since the first stars were handed out on rivals. Since committing, he's risen up the 250 though.

He committed very early and is the like Morris Claibornes Godbrother... He was only going to LSU, so it was pointless for others to pursue (is that gonna calm ya?)

B/c the kid goes to Green Oaks....... it would be like if the kid went to Istrouma. He just got a new head coach that knows what he's doing.

Northwestern

They have been recruiting Louisiana really hard for at least three years. Randy Bates, their LB coach once coached a couple of different defensive units at LaTech. Mike Hankwitz, their DC coached at A&M in the past. They come down and selectively recruit speed.

They have offered S. Christie also this year, Julien Obioha last year and Zack Oliver the year before. They recruited even more guys.

Colin Ellis (from Baton Rouge) also had a hand with Oliver going there. He's a RS-SO who was a starting OLB for them last year.

we offered him early, & he committed early..

..if he woulda waited, and played the game, he would have accumulated numerous big offers

He committed early. He could easily have other offers and just told them he is all lsu. The offer lists are really just taken from the word of recruits and their hs coaches. Thats why there are akways questiins ab committable offers and what not.

From what im gathering, white could be our best wr in the class and could have impact like odell.
