I could see George Clooney 'maybe', although the time to have remade it with him may have passed.
I did like Kutcher in 2 things: his Punked shows and The Butterfly Effect, nothing else.
Never liked Will Ferrell, Sasha Baron Cohen, or Chris Tucker too much.
The worst is Russell Brand. He is f-----g horrible..

Of the big name stars who would make a good Bandit???
Pitt- would have the wry sense of humor and charm.
Depp- the man can be anyone and could probably pull it off.
Downey Jr.- Like Pitt has humor and charm
Hugh Jackman- be a stretch but possible

That sounds terrible. It has the potential to be worst than the Dukes of Hazard movie. Maybe they can get Larry the Cable Guy for Cledus. Jeff Foxworthy has a stache, so he could be Buford T Justice.
