85 - Getting to the playoffs for the first time I could remember and going 2 and Q
86 - Getting to our first CWS and being so happy just to win one game (against Maine)
89 - At No. 1 A&M regional, who only lost 5 games all season, and beating them them twice on Sunday for our 3rd trip to Omaha
91 - First title, Byrd, Sirotka and Ogea, Rios hitting a blast in that game, Greene closing it
93 - Second title, freshman Laxton getting 16 Ks in the title game against Wichita St
96 - Can't add much here, but it was fun beating the Gators twice (again) to get to that Morris HR
97 - Beating Bama for the 4th title and going back to back
98 - Getting to the "semifinals" then dropping two to USC to miss out on the threepeat
00 - Hodges dealing, Witten and Cresse clutch, Theriot throwing his helmet, Skip's last title
01 - Lost to Tulane in the SR; Skip said goodbye
08 - 23 game winning streak, Game 2 SR comeback in the ninth against UCI; comeback in the 9th over Rice in the CWS
09 - LeMahieu's double to tie it in Game 1; Mitchell's 3-run bomb in Game 3; Chad Jones throwing relief in the 7th; Coleman throwing his glove in the air after the last out

Yep, we got ousted by UNC in a game that was tied in the 9th before they hit a grand slam to crush us.

They barely made Hoover as an 8 seed and dramatically won it all.

Was glued to my radio in my Oakbrook apartment.

I can still hear the sound of Dean's blast hitting the outfield wall. It was like a cannon shot.

Was at a friend's place in BSL with a house full of LSU meatheads. The roof felt it like it blew off.

UCI Game 2 Super 9th inning.

God forbid the bats be lively enough to allow for a comeback like this.

I was in EBR parish prison during the 08 CWS. I remember listening to the UNC game on the guard's radio. Didn't think my life could get much worse at that point.

No doubt. The second game was an incredible defensive effort, I believe we won 2-1, and I think without any errors on either side. One of the best played games I've ever witnessed.

You must be thinking about 2010 because I'm fairly certain we were the #2 seed in the SEC tournament in 2008 and we eventually got a national seed.

It is a great time of year, who's getting into Hoover, who's hosting a regional, who's hosting a super, etc. I even like that most people don't give a shite, it's like an underground secret that only hardcore fans follow.
