I went to 2 games this weekend @ Sunken Diamond. I've never attended NCAA regionals other than @ the Box before the past 2 days. I loved the huge trees ringing the stadium. I stood under that shade for a few innings when the temps rose for the afternoon games but still had a great view of the field. How do other venues compare to the Box?

Your comparison is they had nice trees?

Your post doesn't have a comparison.

alex box stadium is the greatest college baseball stadium in the country. probably the greatest stadium in the world. maybe even the greatest building ever built.

Ole Miss has a great venue. The outfield "Was" BYOB and BBQ Pit up until a couple of years ago. I haven't been recently to know if they still turn the eye to beer in a cup.

I had a lot of fun at those baseball games. Plenty of talent at the games as well.

Reckling (Rice) is a nice park just kind of small. Shade can be hard to come by if you're in the wrong seats. During the regular season you are byob and grill on the left field hill which is nice.

Yeah Ole Miss seems like a really neat place to watch a game/get plastered and throw beer for every homer while listening to techno like a seventh grader.

There is no way it was going to be ready in time without help from space aliens.

There are two elements in play here. The Asthetics and the passion.

One there may be stadiums comperable, I honestly don't know, I'll probably never attend a college baseball game other than at the Box.

The other passion. I can't imagine that any park holds as much as Alex Box Stadium.

People giving ole piss credit yeah, they turn a blind eye to alcohol in cups as long as you are wearing red and blue...during football season they are more lenient to visitors but always give us a hard time more than any other team. I hate Oxford.

A&M has blue bell park which is probably the closest thing there is to the Box. South Carolinas stadium is weird..no real backstop...it looks like a softball field.

I typed up a few comments while watching Samford-MS St. What are you expecting, Shakespearan sonnet? Let me guess, that would be above your level of literacy.

My point was that I could stand in the shade when the temps heated up during the game but still clearly see the entire field. I remember feeling uncomfortably hot @ some daytime regionals @ the Box, much hotter than it was in Palo Alto. I wish the Box had more shaded areas for the fans' benefit. The amount of shaded area in Sunken Diamond is a lot more for a place w/ lower average temps.

I've been to Regionals (including the old 6-team format) at the Box, Austin, OU/OKC, Stillwater, Texas Tech & Wichita. LSU was the only place I had to even worry about getting tickets.
