I am planning to see TDKR in IMAX on opening night. Not sure if that will be Nashville or Atlanta yet, but thats besides the point.

Does anyone have an idea when tickets will go on sale for this event? Currently everywhere I look it just lets me know the movie's release date.

Since, in my areas MIB3 and Avengers sold out early, Im assuming TDKR opening night IMAX tickets will be gone quickly.

I'd rather not have to refresh ticket websites every few days.

**Update**

Just got off the phone with an IMAX coordinator at Fandango.

The TDKR IMAX tickets should be listed on Fandango 30-45 days before the movie's release depending on how quickly your IMAX theater approves the listing.

The tickets are typically loaded on Tuesday.

Look for tickets to be available on June 5th, 12th or 19th.

I'd imagine sometime in mid June. I'm waiting for the same thing.

I'll be in Tuscaloosa on opening night and I intend on seeing it at the T-Town IMAX.

I keep calling the theater asking when tickets to the midnight premier go on sale, but those dumbasses keep saying "should be sometime soon".

I lived in Orlando when TDK was released and tickets to the IMAX premier went on sale like a month in advance. I now reside in a town roughly 15 miles from Auburn/Opelika and the nearest IMAX is in Atlanta. So I have absolutely NO CLUE when IMAX tickets go on sale at other theaters. I'd like to know though, because if the T-Town IMAX waits until 12:00am on July 20th to open up the box office, I highly doubt I'll be seeing it that night... and if that happens, I'll probably go on a five state killing spree.

Most of the ticket sale rumors I have read have had the sale date about a month in advance.

I'm betting the IMAX locations will have 12:00 and 3:30 showings.

The simple solution would be to just call the theater and ask.

That's about the time IMAX tickets for TDK went on sale. Only problem is, nobody at the T-Town IMAX seems to know when they're officially going on sale whereas (when I lived in Florida in 2008), they knew the exact date. But I guess that's Alabama for you...

And when you do, report back here and fill us in!

Man I wish they knew. I've called and they have said that they will know at the same time everyone else does because the decision doesn't go through them.

Ask to speak to a manager instead of the regular box office staff because generally regular box office staff doesn't know anymore than the general public knows. If I were you I wouldn't bother to check until with 4 weeks or so. I personally have never seen tickets go on sale for any movie more than a 4 weeks out, but like I said, that's just what I've seen.

Well, if you want to fight, I'll be there.

So do you know when tickets might be available for the midnight premier?
