Has anyone seen this kid play in person? What are his measurables? He looks good on film at times, but just ok at other times. Any insight would be appreciated

Well, what do you think about him? Who would you compare him to? I could see him getting to about 260 and being a beast on the edge if he learns a little bit better technique

I saw him on film, then in person. 2nd play of the game he took a bubble screen to the house. He's very strong and very athletic.

His athleticism to basically play receiver for them impressed the hell out of me.

He's an impressive physical specimen no doubt. I think he may need some work on his technique playing DE though, that's all. He is going to be a player

I think he's got the potential to be a best. Once Moffit gets his body filled out, look out. He's got a lot of similarities to Danielle Hunter to me. That's a good thing.

I really think he may be one of the better DL we get in this class and thats going to be saying a lot whens its all said and done. Love the kids upside and has great speed and athleticism. Probably one of the most underrated DE in the South.

Every single year we have an undervalued instate recruit that every recruiting site overlooks for one reason or another, and the kid becomes a monster. I think Patterson is that guy this year.

Also, considering the DE's on our board, the fact that we targeted Patterson speaks volumes about this kid.

He is going to be a special player. He needs a redshirt and some technique tweaking, but he is going to be good

He looks good. If there are technique issues, they are minor. He plays DE with his head(controls his man with head up, and seals the edge, doesn't overrun play), but has the athleticism to jump routes and to take a swing pass to the house(on offense or defense). Think Montgomery clone...

Yeah he does do a good job with containment. The only real thing I saw regarding technique with him was him needing to use his hands more and coming off the ball lower with more quickness.

I agree with the hands, but the quickness is there. When the kid has a speed rush call, he's blazing, and has decent leverage, and control. Most of his vids have him playing contain, read/react. His hands on offense look good enough to play TE, if he wanted too, so I think his hands won't be a factor with some coaching.
