B1G Network represents $7.2 million of that per school which is pretty incredible.

when you consider that is about half what most schools were getting prior to these brand new deals, it is

SEC has so much of their content already locked up that may be difficult

plus, the true value in the cable networks are getting the channel on cable packages. the big10 has so much more population than the SEC that they're naturally going to make more money from a cable network

who watches matters, but they get money for every cable package (with the tier the network falls in) that includes the network

and yet people still clamor for GT and Clemson to be added to the SEC
clearly, expansion is about markets. The aTm and Mizzou additions add some markets, so Slive has his eye on an SEC Network eventually.

That's from their own network, not what ESPN is paying them, which is what every other's conference is, a glorified ESPN deal.

i know. i wasn't clear

total tv compensation for lots of teams was $15M or less, and big10 schools get $7M from just the BtN

Yeah, as posted on the sec rant, mizzou refers to its band as the "big M from the midwest"
If Slive didnt think they brought markets, they wouldnt have even got a phone call.

If anyone has time, I'd like to see a total of Cable households conference by conference (just the conference's states that have a conference team).

yeah and the markets only matter for a cable network, really. ESPN isn't jacking off thinking about all those millions of Mizou fans making ratings increase. TAMU? different story

aTm gets you both a huge fanbase and inclusion into several large cable markets. mizzou just gets you the cable markets. I think its pretty clear what direction the winds are blowing to anyone not stuck in the past.

i still remember the arguments about that. so many SECtards kept saying we wanted mizzou for the ESPN deal

i seriously almost lost my fricking mind those first few weeks

*ETA: this was when we didn't know who the 14th team was

well the florida and TX #s skew that, especially when you consider this argument 365 days ago

also, you can't underestimate the big10 presence in the major media of the northeast (boston, new york, etc)

Yeah, but regardless I think an SEC Network is coming, there's just too much money there....And it will provide $5-$10million extra per team on top of the CBS/ESPN deals.

The Philadelphia TV market, the nation' 4th largest (very pro Penn State)includes South Jersey and Delaware.

ETA: Camden County NJ is Philly what Jefferson Parish is to the New Orleans market.

The county that houses Wilmington Delaware would be the north shore

i mean in terms of graduates flowing to the big media markets of the northeast

it's kind of like the big10 "media bias" that occurs when so many people in the major media went to schools in the big10

it just happens

I am not sure what media bias even means what I do know is a huge portion of the Philadelphia TV market is located across a half mile wide river out of state.

Thanks to white flight the 10 New Jersey counties from Trenton (the capital) south is Penn State country.

NJ =22 counties
