Didnt see this coming. Hope he's put to good use- they need some toughness.

A little tough to swallow for Kentucky. UK's been so spoiled lately, it's surprising to see them whiff on two prospects in a row (Bennett, Jefferson).

They've whiffed on quite a few this year. Alex Oriakhi and Shabazz Muhammed as well.

Add Tony Parker to that list too. Not a chance that UK has a better class than UCLA this year.

There will be some excuse like always why they didn't get someone. "coaching staff wanted to go another direction" or some bull shite.

Hasn't Duke and State been the two favorites for quite some time now?

Is this official? I thought an announcement wasn't expected until next week.

Can he play defense? Duke's interior defense was pretty poor this past season.

¢al's pockets must not be too deep this year.

Doesn't UK have the #1 ranked class according to just about everyone out there?

Kentucky did miss some this year and always will considering the kids they go after(all elite kids). That said word is that they will have an absolutely loaded group next year. Still early and with their style of recruiting things can change quickly but the dominoes are in line for them to fricking kill recruiting next year. Some schools with high hopes on landing some major kids may be quite upset. Schools in Texas in particular.

I can't imagine how UCLA's class is inferior to Kentucky's. It's hard to tell since Rivals hasnt bothered to update their rankings since before Muhammad committed to UCLA, and no one who seriously follows college basketball gives ESPN's recruiting the time of day

Those Harrison twins? They just seem like the stereotypical UK recruits.

Jefferson and Sulamoin seem like the type of defenders Duke was missing last year. Cook's development on defense is the biggest key to Duke's off-season now IMO.

Absolutely. Last year Cook was by far the best playmaker at the point, but his D was lacking (as was his shot). Curry was a terrible PG and Thornton should be an energy/bench guy, not a starter. Please give QCook the point!

He's living with Nolan Smith this summer so he gets to learn from the best.

Duke has been focusing to heavily on their perimmeter defense, which is a recipe for failure when you have Curry and Dawkins out there.

Bennett was a qualifying issue unfortunately (staying in state keeps him from having to retake his SAT). And we've missed some. But I think most fans expected a down year this year and figured '13 will be that rebound class with some veterans on the team at that point (Wiltjer, Harrow, Mays from Wright State, etc) along with some young talent.

It's unrealistic to think you can consistently have the #1 class every year, but we don't exactly have chopped liver coming in either. I figure Sweet 16 is probably the ceiling at first glance without seeing them hit the court. Congrats to Duke for picking up Jefferson.
