Picked up a Boulevard Rye on Rye and Jester King Beer Geek Rodeo (you can guess the collaberation)

i'm thinking these can store and improve well with time, but i'm not sure how all that works

thanks in advance for tips

In general, malty and high-gravity beers store the best... stouts and the like can improve for years. Some like Black Butte XIII and Abyss that I've bought recently have a "best after" date instead of "best before."

Hoppy beers lose the most over time and should be drank as fresh as possible.

Oh, and I will be looking for this one at Spec's this weekend. I don't really need to be buying more beer, but some I can't pass up.

I don't have many extras laying around.. and I'm going to Texas next week so I'll be looking out for these I think.

But seriously what Boo said was spot on. Wit beers and things like that don't last long at all. The ones you got should be fine for a while.

Stouts, barley wines, belgians, and sours all store well.

IPA's do not. Anything based with hops needs to be consumed fresh.
