probably won't happen however, I hate Sergio Bisquits

Yaya's form the past 2 seasons has been top 5 in the world behind Messiah and Fagnaldo of course

Not that its remotely likely to happen, but playing him the in the Busquets role is a huge waste. He's far too good going forward for that, but at Barca that's probably the only role he would play because of Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, etc.

Unfortunately for him, Barca isn't a retirement home, he's already 28...

I agree with you but pep is no longer the coach so things will change...that CDM role in barca wil change with the new coach, I think busiest might have scored twice this year btw

he turns 29 on sunday. he will finish the meaningful part of his career at city and thank god for that.

i think he's said this since the day he signed with city, but there is no way the club will sell him. he can see out the remainder of his contract (three years) and then go on a free.

eta: obviously if his body is holding up, i'd love him at city even at 32.

Maybe at his CDM position.

No chance. Silva doesn't even feature for Spain.

Jesus is well, Jesus. Fabregas plays more than Silva does.

I'm going based off of the Silva of the first half of the EPL season. He was candidate for player of the year at that point, imo.

This is the type of story that really shows the difference in international professional sports and American professional sports. If an American player said they would like to play for a different club than their current one days before one of the biggest days in club history, they would be crucified. Hell, in the offseason (I think) LeBron said he wouldn't be against returning to Cleveland to finish his career and people crushed him for it.

Yaya is better than Busquets, but they're so racially motivated in that country, he'd sit purely for political reasons.

Lebron would be crushed for throwing away half of an un-eaten meal for killing starving children though to be fair.

I think Barca is set at DM with Busquets and Mascherano... they need a new CB and LB

I look at it as him wanting to return in the twilight of his career and perhaps move into an administrative role. I am completely cool with that as long as he doesn't start demanding a transfer in the middle of the summer. He knows he isn't going anywhere for a year or two.

right, like i said, i think we've got him for AT LEAST the next three years until his contract runs out. at that point he'll be 32 and i'm sure even then we'll handsomely reward him should he choose to stay.

Agree to disagree. Yaya can burst forward as good as anyone, but that space isn't there with the way Barca play (or played). Busquets has a magnificent touch, is a superb passer, and can set a tempo in a way that Toure can't. It was probably a mistake by Barca to let him go, considering they could have used him this season at CB, but Busquets is the better player for me.

speaking of people who should be handsomely rewarded, VK is deserving of a fat paycheck. His current deal runs through 2014. I would try to lock down joe hart and lescott as well maybe.
