Have never heard of that term but I'm sure it's a catch dog.

Pitbull? I've tried turning pitbulls into catch dogs before....they're just too stubborn to mess with (full-blooded ones). One of the best catch dogs I've had was part pit & part American Bulldog....
Full pits make good house/family pets though

Now this just aint fair at all...

I don't have a picture of my favorite one. Blue lacy named maggie. She did EVERYTHING. Blood trailed, treed squirrels, herded cows, ran rabbits, retrieved, and would curl up with ya on the couch at night. Coolest dog ever and I will definitely have another one.

An old man at our camp said maggie was the only dog on earth that was smart enough to read the paper
I'm pretty sure she could understand english better than I could.

Never seen a dog that'll fetch rocks and chew on concrete and firewood.
